Just give it to Seamus Coleman and be done with it
This mentality is part of the issue that has got us where we are; jobs for the boys and all that Everton nepotism (As long as you acted the part in Kenwright's play!)
We need a steady hand that can provide stability, but is also not entrenched in their ways a'la Dyche.
It's all well and good saying bring in 'insert name here'; you've got to be realistic.
We are saddled with debt,
We have an absentee owner (who wants out!) AND still wants to make a buck for Uncle Ali
We are pending a second I.C. by the EPL for PSR breaches
We have a small squad, that even if we stay up will get smaller by players leaving out of contract, or will be cherry picked by better clubs
We have NO cash reserves whatsoever to improve the squad
Our DoF (KT) is allegedly looking for a new post and is entering his last year of his contract (Yes, I know he isn't popular, but that's another piece of a jigsaw getting shoved under the sofa!)
We don't know who are new owners are going to be
The current manager looks like he has lost the squad, doesn't coach/train the squad, doesn't have a serious awareness of tactics etc etc etc
The Academy does not have any players of EPL quality (or near EPL quality) coming thru
The club itself is a loss making business
The club has a huge White Elephant called BMD in the room that will keep sucking resources out of the club until Dec'24, Jan'25
We can't plan for a manager until we realistically know what League we'll be playing in, I.e. do you want a promotion specialist, a fire-man, or a steady hand?
We need a manager who will get the fans 'energised' again...
Just in my honest opinion
