Our Set pieces

….looks like we’re amongst the very best;

We were among the best. The worry for me is that those figures are mainly from last season. My perception is that we've stopped scoring from set pieces, and given that was the only reason we stayed up last season that is worrying.

Dies anyone have the set piece stats from the 12 games this season?

We have stopped scoring because we have one tactic which is too chuck it towards Tarkowski at the back post so he can head it back across, its like something straight of a park on a Sunday league game, it was only a matter a time before other clubs did a defensive rejig and put the blockers on it. The reason most clubs have dedicated set piece coaches is so that they can have 5/6 variations from both attacking and defensive positions to choose from. It's more threat, It's more options, It's less predicable. When asked previously about this Dyche thinks he has it under control. I have never seen how you can have a 3 man coaching team at this level of the game (Dyche and the Right Said Fred brothers) Most managers at this level have 5 or 6 guys with them.

The set pieces are fine to be honest, the problem is that set pieces aren't supposed to be your main attacking threat and they are for us so when we don't score from one for a few games it becomes a big problem. The actual set pieces are no worse than anyone elses though (apart from throw ins, which we've been consistently terrible at for as long as I can remember).

It's an older table and we're not 2nd anymore, also Arsenal scored over double our goals. We sit at about 40 to 50% of our goals total being from set pieces.

The trend follows this year, as we have 40% (4 goals) from set pieces again, but we're joint 2nd currently with several other teams who score more goals than us overall, with the only outlier being Palace, but they've been unlucky not to score more, strictly statistically speaking.

The defensive corners are the worst for me. Every single player comes back for it and if we do win it there's no outlet, no real chance of a counter. Absolutely dreadful but we've been doing it for years, not just since crap dyche took over.

Absolute dog muck, boring and predictable like everything else we’re doing on the pitch currently.

The opposition just need to stick a couple of men on Tarks and then if they don’t win it, pick up any scraps with players around him, cos it’s always gonna go to Tarks - or more likely their keeper.

Throw ins are the worst, there's no thought. No short runs dragging players out with movement in behind. Fits in with Dyche's mantra of don't lose football.
