The Dutch defender. Did I spell his name wrong? Is this thread not about opinions. And imo he was not a great player for us. Mistake after mistake in defence. Was glad when he finally left........

Heitinga was ok till he was found out ie "just put a big cf harassing him and he can't cope".

Mrak Pembridge and Scott Gemmil, they always tried and never faulted their effort but were really limited players.

Nikalas Alexanderson, Jesper Blomquivst.

This is a depressing rabbit hole.

Scot Gemmill cost £250k and played about 100 games for us. He was a fairly uninspiring player but as a signing he was actually a pretty solid piece of business. Alexandersson I can get on board with, he really didn’t deliver what we bought him for, but I think all 3 of the others kind of produced what you’d expect them to produce for the price paid etc.

Fair points - still thinking back they still depress me, good pros, but limited.

@sageyefc not happy with me going to bat for Siggy lol lol But he has at least scored goals and looked like a footballer on occasion. He was a bad signing, but nowhere near our worst

Has to be Davy Klaasen. £24m, fairly decent reputation and he just did absolutely nothing. I remember being at that Europa League home match against that Cypriot team who we drew 2-2 against despite the fact they only had 10 men (peak Koemaggedon) and he was just absolutely pathetic and I think he got hooked at half time.

Bombed out just a year later for less than half of what we paid for him having accomplished absolutely nothing in a blue shirt. By far the worst.

Well maybe he wasn't that bad then. Saw him play a few times and i didn't rate him. But I'm just an idiot punter who says what he sees in front of him. I didn't rate him. But each to their own.
Ps.........don't remember him ever winning a player of the season award. Must have missed that season........

Tbf we never played him in his proper role and hardly any player looked good under moon head, then goes to Germany and now back to Ajax and has looked decent. Under a half decent manager i think he would have done ok tbh
