Its slightly skewed though, as zidane is still widely recognised as the worlds most expensive transfer.

That is a fact. And wages not included. And only some players have the status to negotiate image rights - which were included in this.

Also LA Galaxy weren't just buying a player to improve their team (like the other transfers on here) but were buying him to sell shirts, improve their status, for publicity, to promote the club and also the sport generally.

Its not like they bought him just to play footy.

Agreed though, that he is a spectacularly bad transfer as far as football goes - but what did they expect?
