Since we're limited on how much we can spend, I felt it relevant to bring up that if people consider that 8M would be a waste on Manny, SURELY it would be a waste on Owen all other things being equal. I just wanted to point that out.

That said, I had stated earlier that it's a moot point with Owen because we wouldn't come anywhere close to wages. Well if I'm going to be objective about it, I don't think Valencia would sell Manny for 6-8M either so that's a moot point as well.

I must have missed the Fernandes for 6-8 million is not worth it posts. I'm in the camp of I'd pay 8 million and not a penny more. I thought the general consensus of the forum was that we'd all be happy to get Manny for that sum however what people are complaining about is 10-12 million

I'm confident that if I could be bothered, I could easily dig up plenty of posts saying in a nutshell, spend money elsewhere as Fernandes hasn't shown enough this year to warrant us buying him.

I'm paraphrasing here but the idea is the same.

Why does it matter? It doesn't look like £8m would be anywhere near enough to buy Mani now that it's come to light that he's still in a third party ownership thing.

Another year's loan would be nice though (y)
