wanky wanky wank wank...wank wank.

"boo hoo he's cost £50k a week..too much money...not fit enough, boo hoo"

FFS we cant get anyone we really want nowdays so gambles have to be taken. Manure cant even get superstars to go there way at the moment so gambles need to be taken.

We missed the boat big time on this one.

It brings up the question whether the board etc , even with all "invest in the team malarkey being spouted " are really upto the task. Without major investment i fear the likes of Cahill , Arteta n co will be tempted away....(n)(n)

Another potentially great side ripped apart ala the 80's , however for different reasons obviously.

Owen may and probably will score a fair amount of goals for the Mancs when he is used, just like Larsson did. If he's injured, depending on the accuracy of the contract rumours, he costs the Mancs what is to them a relatively small amount. For them a decent signing.

However I still feel in our position bringing in Owen would have been too much of a gamble on an injury prone player with question marks over his effectiveness now the pace is gone. Goalscorer given the chance is the often used agruement but even that looked questionable while missing some easy chances for DoonToon. We create chances but we need a lone front man with attributes which can stretch a defense or link well with the midfield runners. Owen offers little in either way now so for us a poor signing.

Jo on loan again please Davey.(y)

we shouldn't say this is bad news necessarily, if we sign a player like that, all our players will demand wage increases, which would lead to unhappy players, which would lead some of our best players to move on.

for instance, maybe lescott is happy here, but once he sees owen come in paid twice as much as him, maybe city's offer starts looking more tempting.

we have to look at the bright side of this, this was a brilliant move for Ferguson because he can afford to waste wages if necessary, but a player like owen could potentially cause unrest in our dressing room. i think that passing on owen could turn out to be the best move for us.

(though i will admit the thought of a yakubu owen parternship is tantalizing, we have to think realistically)

Ah well, would have been an interesting signing, could have been signing of the season but then could have been flop of the year, would have been risky considering we can't afford to splash the cash

Must be made up you mate. Losing Tevez and Ronaldo, and replacing him with some cripple.[/QUOTE]

I am made up mate I love my team and trust fergie
Nobody holds us to ransom this has been a fate acompli

Its simple

Tevez - Doesnt want to play for us so **** him

Ronaldo- Gave us two great seasons and now doesnt want to play for us so **** him

Life goes on

Michael Owen wants to play for us and has just passed a stringent Manchester United medical

Good luck to the lad Ill be right behind him

we already got one crock in saha couldn't risk havin another. really suprised he's gone to manure thou :o

I disagree with that. I think our players are down to earth and would've loved Owen here no matter how much he was getting paid. They're not full of ego's and would rather learn from him (strike wise) than anything else. He's a "name" after all, and would've boosted the clubs profile more IMO.

I think its a big coo for Fergie. I'd rather a fit Owen coming off the bench to change a game in a semi or final cup game than Berbatov.

United lacked that cutting edge in front of goal last season (too many 1-0, 2-1 late minute jobs etc). Owen will finish anything put on a plate for him.

And personally...I dont think hes THAT injury prone compared to Saha or Vaughan to be honest. He played around 27 games last year, 16 full 90 minutes, scored 8 goals...in a [Poor language removed] Newcastle.
