I am in Derbyshire mate .......... had the pleasure of flying a Harris Hawk today ... along with 3 different variety of owl other than the Barn Owl. Absolutley mind blowing.Where's your course mate ?
Barn Owls are one of my favourite things in the whole world.
Seeing one in the wild hunting is an amazing sight and sadly a rarity these days .

Will have a load tomorrow.Fantastic, a fella who lives by me has Peregrines that he hunts ( professionally at airports and the like ).
I've been out with him a few times when he's been training a new one and I have to say it's one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done in my life. If I didn't have kids and more time, it would be something I 'd love to do.
There's also a lad who I see now and again who " free hunts " with a Gyr Falcon. I've held it a few times on the glove and you can actually feel its claws when it tenses them. God only knows what it does to a Magpie when it gets hold of one !
