Now that the US has gone through if there is one team that should feel agreeved from putrid reffing is the Aussies. Cahill's red was ridiculous and AUS was probably good for a goal in something like a 3-1 loss in the Germany. Kewell's was beyond harsh as well and the way they played were much better than Ghana.

Gotta give credit to them, the Aussies never gave up.

That first game loss was a result of the coach who was utter crudite putting out the wrong team because he only knows "the dutch system" of playing. He can't adapt tactics to suit the players he is given. Have fun coaching Moroccan juniors Mr Verbeek.

You leave Aussie Pim out of this.

Awful refs over there.

I was wondering how Aussies think of their system. No doubt he's a decent manager but I've always thought that the Aussies advanced in 2006 despite and not because of Hiddink. That 06 team had quite a bit of talent with a number of players (Cahill, Emerton, Swartzer, Neill etc all in their primes) and some of the moves he made were idiotic. First was benching Cahill in the Japan match. The other big move was benching Swartzer for "Spider Man" or whatever the F his name was. It was the single worst managerial decision in the WC I've ever seen.

The Aussies seem like they'd be better keeping it simple and win with physicality. Similar to the system that the US has.

Yeah mate, not much skill here, if we can break legs to win we will. We need some decent youth coaches. I dont know if we have much in the way of young up coming talent either, I think it is pretty much the same, although I think Tommy Oar is a little bit special.

I disagree with that, Hiddink had Australia playing some decent football and Cahill was coming back from injury, there where doubts whether he'd make the game at all from what I remember. And his sub eventually changed the game, who's to say Cahill would have had the same impact if he'd have started? He was fresh, he livened the game up, you could argue it was a good tactical move.

The goalkeeper situation was a mistake he made, granted, but Australia still qualified and progressed from the group, that game was also very entertaining, and Australia's positive was a breath of fresh air. They where very unlucky to get knocked out by Italy.

They are calling the current group of players "the golden generation". They have all been playing since the late 90's. Once they are all gone, which is likely to happen after this WC, I think we will slip back in to obscurity for a few years. I don't like our chances of getting to the next world cup. Although four years is a long time I guess for something new to pop up.

How dumb do you have to be to lose this match to the Aussies. The Serbs squandered so many chances it makes you laugh at such inability.

I must say I almost turned out to be an emmigrant in Australia.

When I was a kid, I remember earing my parents about packing the suitcases and move to Australia.

You would probably be representing Australia in the WC if you did, all you need is to have parents from Europe and be able to kick a football.

I never enjoyed the training. When I was 14 I attended to Sporting training ground and had a hell of an afternoon. Didn't stay but they told they'd be monitoring me.

Then I went to a small club near home but didn't enjoy the physicall training without the ball.

I played with Almani Moreira who now plays for Partizan Belgrade.
