tyson was at his best pre 1990 and was well on his way to self distruction when douglas beat him in 1990. watch his early fights pre 1990 on youtube and watch his movement (perfect peakaboo style) to how it was post 1990. lewis beat tyson in 2002. not to take anything away from lewis he was a great champion and i wish he would of fought a tyson in his prime.

Im not a boxing fan but Id like to be.

Are there any true greats anymore? Or just some Eastern block giants.

Its just too confusing with all the belts and that. Heavy weights are where the top dogs sit but who are they nowadays?

Ring magazine has kind of gotten a system in which the ring mag champion is the champ of the wt. class. There are too many classes. There should at least be 1 class for every 10lbs (4.5kg) instead of a wt. class at every 5 lbs.

The heavyweights suck but over past 10 years at the lighter weights there have been some tremendous fights and fighters. Paciquao vs. any of the Mexican greats, Cotto, Margarito, et.al.

Problem is, is that the great ones don't fight very often anymore. Maybe 1-2 times a year. Paciquao has been the busiest of the great champs and he only fights 3 times a year.

Nobody could fight Tyson in his prime, i used to love watching him fight, he was probably the 1st fighter i ever watched, never had much interest before him. And if im honest never enjoyed watching anybody but him.

He was just a beast, he didnt box people he just smashed them.

The question then is Ali v Tyson who would win. If both were at the top of their game I would love to watch that fight. Personnaly I would have to give it to Ali on the asumption that his guile would overcome Tyson's power and ferocity. Be close though and I wouldn't want to put too much money on it.

If Ali could withstand the opening round against Tyson, then i would say Ali would win on points, but Ali's style was very open and Tyson would have teared right into him from the first bell.

Not true anymore, Klitschko brothers a bossing it but Tyson or Holyfield in their prime would have the beatings of them.

David Haye came up from Cruizerweight to Heavyweight and mullered his last opponent, and now looking to fight one of the Klitschko's. Haye is he next big thing in the top weight, but again, Tyson hands down.

I would have been a good a fight that, I think Tyson would hurt him though, his power was awsome...

My Top 5 at the moment...

1. Manny Pacquiao (Manny is truly a great name)
2. Juan Manuel Marquez (Manuel there again)
3. Antonio Margarito
4. Cotto
5. Bernard Hopkins (did anyone see the Kelly Pavlik fight? For a 43 year old that was an amazing performance)

What I liked about Tyson was just that, straight in no messing around. Ali proved he could take pressure. I think you're right about a points win for Ali though. Could you imaging both of them going for it from the off.

Just for mischief should they put Micky Vann in the middle, great ref, but imagine him trying to pull those two apart:lol:

To be honest mate, i have no idea. I love my boxing but because it is not on the box much for me, "i dont have sky" i have lost track on what is going on in the boxing world. I did'nt even reallise Khan and the useless Audley Harrison amongst others where in action on saturday night.
