This is an observation I have made.

Must confess, it was personal choice.

the forum default is 15, every time I upgrade the forum software it reverts and I forget to change again, which I'm told impacts our SEO.

With the match previews, and media embeds, I think 15 is right. Any more and the scroll is a bit much and the page load time...

Think 15 is sound. Especially in the threads that are gif or video heavy it does get a little laggy on the phone using public wifi

Users don't find here, without the technical stuff.

We're #1 for 'Everton forum' for good reason.

Also, on user experience, prefer quicker page loading.

Google care about page speed;

and advertisers won't advertise, on slow pages.

It's staying on 15 posts per page, I'm trusting the experts on this one who tell me that's the optimised/default amount.

I don't know if you've seen The RAWK meltdown thread, but one of their contributors (possibly one of their mods) has given me a catchphrase I'm going to furiously milk for at least two days and possibly beyond. I was looking for an excuse to use it. The posts-per-page thing makes perfect sense.
