Parachute payments

It’s likely to happen with a few players and could be costly to us
We should be able to sell
Pickford
Onana
Branthwaite and maybe
Calvert Lewin
and Gomes.

Doucoure is out of contract and loans for Coady and Vinagre are up.

However we will be left with high earners like
Keane
Godfrey
Holgate
Tarkowski
Patterson
Mykolenko
Iwobi
Gueye
Gbamin
Garner
Gray
McNeil
Maupay
Alli
Very tough to see how we move them on so I suspect that we will just have to utilise them in the Championship ( Alli won't play obviously as that triggers a fee).

Yes I pray we get rid of majority of them I’d keep garner, McNeil, Patterson, Gray and maybe tarks, no way I want to see the higher earners here cause they might do ok in the championship but not good enough for premier league and after this years performances I don’t want to see them taking another penny from this club.

Think it lasts three seasons. Each payment reducing significantly each year.
Even with the parachute payments we will lose around £75 million from broadcasting revenue.

Given our financial situation, we will need to probably sell double this to balance the books given our loses.
Think it's 2 seasons now as ours at West Brom finish end of season and it's our second season down, dire straits for us next season, possibly Administration

Parachute payments are unique to the English game and currently see clubs relegated from the Premier League receive a percentage of the equally shared element of broadcasting rights each Premier League club receives. This percentage drops progressively over a three-year period – 55% in the first year, 45% in year two and, if the club was in the Premier League for more than one season before relegation, 20% in the third year.

This system was introduced for clubs relegated in 2015/16 onwards, with the previous system having a similar structure but with payments spread over 4 years. If a club is promoted back to the Premier League during the parachute payment period, then it no longer receives parachute payments

It's pretty grim tbh.

It's 3 years of payments (2 if you've been in the Prem less than 3 seasons) Around 40/50 mil season 1 then around 20/30 mil for seasons 2 and 3.
Considering the Broadcast revenue for the Prem is around 80-100 mill per season (Including league finish position prize) and for the Championship it's around 2.5 mil per season, that's a huge loss.

So basically we have to get up first time but if we don’t. we have two more goes till we are truly in the mud forever.

I’m looking forward to a squad cull. No way we can keep these useless high earner even with a few years contract to run. Most of them will be gone somehow

I don’t trust any of it yano. I’m sure I’ve heard Norwich fans say they struggle in parachute payments. If they struggle am sure it will massacre us
55% mate, that means we can currently pay 55% of our wage bill, Sponsors will bail or want money off, plus we still have to find another 300million for Brammers.

If we were a racehorse we would have been shot by now.
