This morning, a DHL fella knocks and asks if I can take a parcel in for a house a few down.

Sound, it's the season of goodwill and all that.

Turns it, it's quite a big parcel.

Anyway, they've been home since about 15 minutes after I took said parcel.

Now, who is the onus on in this great Mexican standoff?

Should I be the bigger person here and take the parcel over like a peasant to them?

Or should I stand my ground and make them bastards come and collect their parcel.

At this point I probably don't need to add that I think the particular household are bad, bad kopites.

@JamesEFC recently discovered I live near him so don't grass me up lad x

I’ve kept a huge parcel for over a week before now. It’s deffo up to the buyer to get it, especially with all the online tracking etc.

And now I’ve moved house and hate my neighbours I refuse to take anything in for them as they are gobshites.
They did take a MacBook in for me that specifically had ‘do not leave with the neighbours’ included in my address and I had to knock immediately for that before it ended up in Cash Converters.

Onus is on them mate, especially at this time of year.

Almost certainly a present, so packaging/shape/brand could give the game away if the wrong person was in, if that makes sense.

Unless its one person living alone and are elderly/infirm, then thats what we do.

The delivery lad would have carded the address, so they know its with you.

What if a week goes by and they don't knock?

Do we get to keep it?

I don't know what the grace period is but I've kept a parcel for around a week before they knocked. I'd probably have knocked on after that.

Saying that my neighbours always knock round with my parcels so there's a good possibility I'm completely wrong and horribly anti social.

To add, the house immediately next door to this house refused to take it according to the courier.

The courier also said he would definitely leave a card and had the card in his hand.

VOTE.

Kopites? There's only one way to deliver it...
