This morning, a DHL fella knocks and asks if I can take a parcel in for a house a few down.

Sound, it's the season of goodwill and all that.

Turns it, it's quite a big parcel.

Anyway, they've been home since about 15 minutes after I took said parcel.

Now, who is the onus on in this great Mexican standoff?

Should I be the bigger person here and take the parcel over like a peasant to them?

Or should I stand my ground and make them bastards come and collect their parcel.

At this point I probably don't need to add that I think the particular household are bad, bad kopites.

Good chance they are kopites as unfortunately as you probably know we have a lot up here, and the worst possible kind..

Keep hold of it for now and if Wolves actually turn up tomorrow bounce over with it on the final whistle..

Whenever I get a delivery card that states "your parcel has been left with your neighbour at... ", I always pop around to theirs with the card in my had to collect whatever it is. The onus is on them, but on the other hand, if your neighbours are scumbags, you may not want them calling to your house and knowing if you are at home or not.

I normally give it a day and if they haven't come around I'll just take it to them just in case the delivery driver hasn't left a card through their door, that's actually happened a few times to me, when the neighbours have then brought the parcel to me they've just given me the look until I explain that the driver hadn't put a card through the door.

Have had the same. Bone lazy some people.

If it's a big parcel I usually try and get it round to them asap if they haven't called and you know they are at home. Can't be doing with something making the hall look untidy.

Don't always assume that the delivery driver has left a card telling them where the parcel is. I've had 2 delivered in the last week that have gone to neighbours but no card through the door, was only when I tracked the parcel did I realise, they posted a photo of said deliveries and then i was like Sherlock Holmes trying to find which door it was on the photo !!

If they're kopites you could have a box with a family's hoard of full kits stinking out your gaff, ready for Christmas. Get rid. Take it around.

(But first drill a discrete 8mm hole, insert wang and empty bladder in it first. They'll appreciate you 'wearing the kit in')

Had exactly this yesterday. Our neighbour for some reason refuses to buy a door bell. They get regular deliveries that we have to regularly take in for them. I don't bother taking them round any more as I end up banging on the door standing there looking like an idiot. It's up to them to find out that it was left with us and they can come and get it..

Carefully unwrap the original parcel. Get a shoebox and take a dump in it. Carefully wrap the shoebox in the original wrapping. Await neighbours.

I like stuff like this. About 18 months ago my other half's Mom came to visit for a week. She runs her own IT / Robotics consultancy and had ordered some components for delivery at my house.

Courier rocked up a day earlier than expected when we'd all gone out. Returned home to find a slip ticket against the 'with neighbour' box and what looked like 'Gordon 84'. Scrawled on it. Online tracking just stated it was delivered.

The old boy at 84 isn't called Gordon. After going up and down my street, there ain't a Gordon who lives in the locality. 3 days I was stressing about the package. At the time there were some shady characters renting nearby, police always there etc. Easy to think the worst.

Anyway, transpires the courier meant 'Gardens'. Found the packages in a bush soaking wet.

Ffs.

So yeah, let your neighbour stew. Its the right thing to do
