This morning, a DHL fella knocks and asks if I can take a parcel in for a house a few down.

Sound, it's the season of goodwill and all that.

Turns it, it's quite a big parcel.

Anyway, they've been home since about 15 minutes after I took said parcel.

Now, who is the onus on in this great Mexican standoff?

Should I be the bigger person here and take the parcel over like a peasant to them?

Or should I stand my ground and make them bastards come and collect their parcel.

At this point I probably don't need to add that I think the particular household are bad, bad kopites.

@JamesEFC recently discovered I live near him so don't grass me up lad x

Tell @roydo to carry his own boxes, unless he's giving you some cash to complete his job.

I’ve kept a huge parcel for over a week before now. It’s deffo up to the buyer to get it, especially with all the online tracking etc.

And now I’ve moved house and hate my neighbours I refuse to take anything in for them as they are gobshites.
They did take a MacBook in for me that specifically had ‘do not leave with the neighbours’ included in my address and I had to knock immediately for that before it ended up in Cash Converters.
Thats a nightmare, I will only buy stuff now from ebay/Amazon that I can click and collect and pick from a shop, to avoid stuff like this happening

Amazon driver kept bringing parcels to my dads house for different numbers in the street after he agreed to take a parcel once he would then take it to them when they got home from work fair enough old people and their community spirit what can you say
i was fuming and caught up with this fella when he knocked while i was there i told him if the old boy excepts anymore parcels i'm opening them if i like them i'm keeping them and if i don't their going in the bin little gimp thought i was joking and started laughing had to tell him i was serious
give a inch and some people take a mile

Can we get an update on this please @GrandOldTeam . There were several good suggestions here.
Did you:
A) call on the neighbour and deliver the parcel?
B) let the neighbour know of your availability to pick up the parcel?
C) open it up and defecate in it before resealing and lobbing it over their fence?

I stood my ground as per the vote and they collected it yesterday evening.

I dedicate the victory to this fine, award winning forum.

Happened to me, not once but twice.
Took a parcel for the Golightly’s across the street then brought it to them both times.
Mrs Golightly answered the door both times and didn’t say a word, just took it out my hand twice. Not even a thank you.
Third time the parcel guy knocked and I said no, he must have thought I was a right arse for refusing.

Have you ever thought that she is ordering stuff just so that she gets to see you......

Out of interest why was you fuming?

Obviously I don't know your old fella but if he's happy to do his neighbours a favour then what's the fume about? I've done delivery work and there's quite often a retiree or two who are pretty insistent that they'll happily take stuff in for any neighbours in the street. I'd always card the house the parcel was for and would never expect whoever was good enough to take it in to then deliver it but some people do anyway.

On the face of it, it sounds like a massive over-reaction but then I don't know the details.

lol

And every street has one! Its pure magic when you unearth them!!

I live in a lane with house names not numbers, and often other drivers would ask me where so and so house was if I was in.

My neighbour who is an absolute tosser, refused to take a parcel for my house once according to my regular courier man!
Not to be a dick, I took two in for him when he went away. Anyway, about 6 days later they were still there and I noticed it said "handle with care, peonies inside". I opened the delivery slip and it was from the bloody shopping channel, so I phoned them to ask if I should open the box and water them...."they're plastic peonies sir, she replied.

Now it turns out this is a proper crap story, but even so, George, a grown man buying plastic peonies from the shopping channel...poor show. Guess what football shirt I see on his washing line.......
