Its clear now were not buying either of them. If we don't sign Manny or another similar kind of quality, I for one wont be happy.

I'd like to believe the rumours of another season long loan for Manny with optional £8m transfer but if not....

7m Parker, 5m Barton, 4m Jaglieka... would you rather pay the extra few million?

You all know my opinion but alas wasnt to be!

Perhaps the fact we didnt try to sign either bodes well for Manny and theres more going on behind closed doors than we beleive.

If not theres:

Reo Cooker

and expect the Kevin Nolan/Tommy G/Sean Davies rumours.

Personally i wouldnt mind us going for young Davies at Villa.

Thats all persuming were in the market for a central midfield player!

Absolutely. If he played all season as well as he did for the few months he was on loan this year, he'd be worth considerably more than £8m this time next year.

There's no guarantees with something as transient as a players form, but if we're going to kick on we need to take at least some risks. This guy is class; I'd consider £8m (if that's genuine) a wise investment.

Even with Fernandes, though, we still need to strengthen.

8 million sounds reasonable to me consider how much man utd pay for nani and the other. 17 million each?

Like i mention in the other thread, baring in mind the cost, plus wages, plus the fact that we need to sign fernandes, my choice will be the cheapest of the 3.

Fernandes is [Poor language removed] brilliant, better than Parker, Barton, Reo-Coker, etc. And at the moment he is way cheaper than he will be in a few years time. Fantastic ability and we MUST sign him.

I'd have manny over parker or barton, especially barton. Parker has hit his peak right now and manny is better than he is already.

I'm sure there is alot of red tape to sort out and with all this west ham crap going on I'm sure the legal people are double checking and triple checking that the way we do it is proper.

parker = i have doubts about him, he has moved too many times now in a short period of time, why im wondering is he money mad or just unlucky, charlton to chelsea i can understand that but he moved to newcastle to play more football he said, he is there captain and playing week in week out so why as soon as west ham bid hes on his way again. stinks mate

barton = trouble so no tar

jags is a useful player who can play in a few positions left back, right back and across the middle and as far as i can tell his not trouble so out of the 3 i prefure jags. also he might free up phil neville to concentrate on playing in the midfield

out of those 3 I would defo take jagielka, parker moving baffles me too and I want nothing to do with him.

Barton has never really shined as he...

Jagielka would improve our squad no end, imagine having him on the bench instead of naysmith.... :D

***Controversy time**** I would actually prefer to have Parker over any of them including Manny. Yes Manny did it in fits and starts but Parker in my eyes would give us something extra, as well as defend he is skillful in attack and can pick a pass or three. I believe Cahill could be just as effective in a 4 next to Parker as he is in a 5 without him.

IMO

Good post mate id have to tend to agree with you. Putting aside my BARTON OBSESSION, i would have liked to have seen Parker happening hes an all round midfielder defensive/attacking and i agree with you aboout playing with Cahill. He would have offered great varience in our play an alternative attacking option to Arteta (I think temas will twig his ability next season and kick or mark him out of games next season).

To be honest i can see see the potential in Fernandes, but nothing to justify the amounts of money people are talking about paying for him, the third party ownership thing really doesnt sit well with me either. It could be his eventual downfall which would be a pity.

i think the third party problem is gone now, he signed a deal with benfica in january whereby they bought the other 50% of his contract, so now only benfica own fernandes.

as for parker to west ham, it makes sense, hook up with curbs who brought him through as a kid, back to london - the streets he grew up on and his family, better wages possibly at west ham - and newcastle isnt london.

anyway, dodgy allardyce wil lbe implementing his kick and run policy at newcastle so parker might not be the only footballer leaving st james.

Don't think there was ever any chance of Parker coming to GP, think Moyes is of the opinion he turned us down before so stuff you.
