Parker/Barton

***Controversy time**** I would actually prefer to have Parker over any of them including Manny. Yes Manny did it in fits and starts but Parker in my eyes would give us something extra, as well as defend he is skillful in attack and can pick a pass or three. I believe Cahill could be just as effective in a 4 next to Parker as he is in a 5 without him.

IMO

Spot on mate but it won't happen now(y) (y)

moyes has shown some tanacity though in the past, he got johnson second time round, was in for sean davis a couple of times, got simon davies at the second opportunity, parker is a capable player, able to tackle and pass well, a made to measure cars replacement.

Fernandes is [Poor language removed] brilliant, better than Parker, Barton, Reo-Coker, etc. And at the moment he is way cheaper than he will be in a few years time. Fantastic ability and we MUST sign him.

I would imagine that if we signed manny on a season long loan then the 8 million buyout price would be in writing before the deal started. That price would be a fixed pre-arranged value that we would have to pay if we took on the rite to buy option at the end of the term. I would not worry about inflating prices due to his performances.

My biggest NO about Parker is"HE IS A MONEY GRABBING NON PASSIONATE FOOTBALLER" why else did he squander the chance to join us in the past and why is he even thinking about leaving the Bar codes for the Hammers, same as Lucas Neil when he turned down the [Poor language removed], because all he wants is fat wages and no ambition. Just my opinion though.

Fair do's, he doesnt strike me as that sort of person though. I think hes a london lad and wants to go home. Besides I think Newcastle would match the wages of the hammers if they wanted to keep him so bad.

That is what upsets me so much though buddy, wages wages wages all the time with these shites. People come to us knowing we have a wage cap, so they must be coming for passion, ambition and football. If only all the league was the same again. Bring back the eighties. Since the formation of "The Premiership" football and its morality have smashed through the floor and is still dropping.

so true Gaz(y) :( , unfortunately morality and money don't walk hand in hand. Slightly off thread but W Ham's pronouncements about wages on offer and that type of thing is bound to upset any player hence I just hope AJ turns a deaf ear to all this chat in case he is tempted to double his already mamouth wages. In the coming years it will not be how much a player costs more like how much you can pay them:angry:

Unfortunately we live in the age where wages are going to play a roll in players decision to join the club. We are going to have to fish out the cash!

Its really funny Parker has NEVER struck me like a mercenary- seriously.

He was at Charlton- got blinded by the lights of Chelsea, they paid 10m for him and Charlton couldnt wait to cash in. He had a torrid time at Chelsea and wanted to move on. Newcastle matched Chelseas valuation and the draw of the toon crowd did it for him. Hes now itching for London and thats as they say is that.
