That was the only time I went to Maine rd, while we were waiting to get out someone opened the doors of a burger van, there were frozen burgers flying round like rock hard frisbees.
Been there quite a few times and always found it to be quite a lively place so to speak

Underrated players like that are vital to any winning team, Can't all be the Steven's or Sheedy's or even ya Van Den Hauwe's. Came in and did a thoroughly good job in a few positions that season for £65,000. Shame he was crocked then and after surgery was never the same player.

Did well for us , always put a shift in , i was suprised how well he played to be honest as i thought he would be one of those player who would het about 5 or 6 games at most over the season.

Far from "bog standard" in my eyes. Fact is we wouldn't have won the league that season without some stellar performances from "lesser lights" like Power, Pointon, Wilkinson, Clarke...
Never once let us down, scored a few himself and whipped in some incredible crosses for people to get on the end of. Unless my memory is failing me, a cross for Sharp against Southampton springs to mind.

You need the unspectacular sometimes.
