A Bolalol

Still remember the dark days of using Google translate to read that woeful paper to see if Moutinho was coming to us and they were absolutely adamant.

I think The Metro has a better track record.

From Portugal: Fonseca leaves Everton behind, ‘should commit to West Ham soon’

Portuguese newspaper A Bola has some interesting and strong claims about West Ham United and Paulo Fonseca this Saturday.

It starts with their headline saying the Hammers have made an approach for the manager, who they believe should be leaving Shakhtar Donetsk this summer.

That makes it sound like just another transfer rumour, with things still in the early stages, with maybe the negotiations developing during the summer.

But the rest of the story completely goes for it, saying that Fonseca should soon take charge of the London side.

Shakhtar have offered the manager a new salary worth €9m per season, while Everton also contacted him, but he ‘should commit to West Ham soon’, to use the newspaper’s own words.

It’s weird to see this excitement because A Bola literally says that West Ham have only gone as far as an approach. So maybe the manager was really, really excited with this contact, because the optimism seems quite big.

Fonseca has been repeatedly linked with Everton as an option to replace Sam Allardyce, and was also reportedly of interest to the Goodison Park club before they appointed their current manager.

Claims of West Ham interest in Manuel Pellegrini have come from both Chile and Spain recently, so perhaps the club aren’t entirely satisfied with David Moyes.
I`m sure Lucas Sposito is a previous @chicoazul multi lol

This is where we are though: two years into the carpet bagger's reign and WHU are bitch slapping us. We really only have one decent option here so I suggest we take it.

These Portuguese papers are even less credible than Italian ones where Everton stories are concerned, they are always wrong so I wouldn't be too worried. Having said that I struggle to see Fonseca coming anyway unless we roll out a massive plan (and bag of money) for him and Brands is confirmed. Silva is probably the most likely candidate and by far a more preferable option in my option than Large Sam.

No one’s bitch slapping anyone until rumour becomes fact.
Might be an agent's ploy to get a club to shift itself. However, I could easily see a club in the PL and in the capital outdrawing us right now in the parlous state we are.

He'll be off to a CL qualified team.

But we need a manager to give us an identity again and to have a decent season. That's all we'll be able to do under the circumstances because cash will be on a sell to buy basis. If a Fonseca came in they'd be pressurised to get us into Europe straight away. We are miles off and we'd implode with the expectation of it all with our current squad + a few additions.

Silva is our best bet by far.

So could i, but West ham ? Really ?
He wont mind. It's another place on the bucket list to tick off for these managers. High profile too. Olympic stadium and London-centric British media reporting on him across the globe. I can easily see it.

Oh god Dave's going to do it again isn't he, what a machine

Tbf, Silva has been a big and obvious favourite to eventually get this job. If he does I'd like that watford fan goading us to come back on here and take his punishment.
