Paulo Fonseca

West Ham have wasted no time in searching for a replacement for David Moyes after meeting Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca on Monday.

The 45-year-old Portuguese flew into Luton on Monday afternoon with his agent, Jorge Mendes, and was taken by car to the Essex mansion of Hammers chairman David Sullivan.

Sportsmail's exclusive pictures show a car leaving Sullivan's home at 6.35pm last night after a 75-minute meeting. The picture appears to show Mendes, covering his face, seated in the front.

As Sportsmail revealed last weekend, Moyes was almost certainly taking his last game in charge of the London club when he guided them to victory against Everton on Sunday.

His contract expired on Sunday night and while he is due to receive a healthy seven figure bonus for keeping the club in the Premier League, it has become clear over the last few weeks that a lack of commitment from both sides was likely to lead to a parting of the ways.

But Monday's meeting, set up when Moyes was still manager, proves that Sullivan is certainly interested in making another managerial change, with Fonseca the first through the door for talks.

If we've swerved Fonseca for Silva I'll be gutted. I'll get behind Silva but Fonseca is a much better option and he'd choose us over them so if he's actually going there it makes me think we've actually cooled our interest in him. Koff Everton

Just because they had a meeting doesn't mean he'll accept their proposal, he'd be insane to choose West Ham over Everton considering the money that'll be available in the summer for him to improve the squad. Plus, we're just better than West Ham.

Fonesca was never ever a candidate lads.

He was a random name along with O'Neill thrown in to the hat on the same day Alladyce was all but confirmed.

Its Silva all day long unless Moshiri can by some miracle convince Wenger to come in.
