The 'accepted' story is that both he and Silva were sounded out and pursued by Moshiri after our initial 6 month offer to Allardyce was turned down by the fat man. When it became clear that both Watford & Shakhtar didn't want to play ball slap-bang in the middle of a domestic season (and a CL campaign in Shakhtar's case) we went back to Allardyce with a better offer as a last resort/bid of desperation due to our form under Unsworth being awful at the time. Also explains why the whole bloody ordeal took six weeks to settle.Rumours were that we tried to bring him in before getting Allardyce, but Shakhtar knocked us back mate.
I heard he's particularly interested in getting the inside scoop about our promising youngsters from smack ed Jose Baxter.I bet he's desperate to get here to work with the likes of Baines and Jagielka and Williams and the rest of the Everton dressing room Anarcho-Syndicalist cadre.
And what new manager wouldn't wish to inherit the sublime cone laying skills of Duncan Ferguson and Franny Jeffers?
Something from the Independent last November to whet the appetite.Have we even been linked to this fella, or juju wishful thinking?
Has he ripped his armband off and got his NSNO replacement out yet?

Delving into the history books again Dave. Tell you what though regardless of his playing skills, Fergie was 100% Everton.
Hmmmm....
Problem with my post Mate?
I agree, could and should have made more of his playing career, the tools were there.Just not convinced he was 100% Everton when he played. When he was up for it he was, there was times where he just couldn't be bothered though. His stupid red cards did my head in.
