Travelled far to my sisters' funeral today - our son driving us there - Allerton Crem - shuddered when I saw the sign for Woolton as it @COYBL25 territory [only Joking} the funeral Buffet was at Peg Legs in the Dingle - I noticed what a great community spirit in there, & a fantastic hot & cold food buffet spread of food plus it was a free bar ....
I was saddened to lose my sister, but realised why she liked living in that environment of people - Scousers - & married into a reds' family - the flower bouquets were Blue & White always a blue God bless her ..... she was taken so quickly RIP

Not many boozers like that left Joey.

A fitting place to send your sister off mate 💙

Used to drink, play snooker, finger dodgy women there during my youth, many many years ago now. Worked there briefly too.

Great community where good people look out for each other. Proud to be from those parts.

Dingle, like so many others areas of the city, was full of great pubs. Now, it's the Herculaneum, The Anglesea, The Queens and The Globe.

The only one I've been in recently is the Queens, and I wouldn't be rushing back.
Worked in several around The Florrie during my youth. Couple in Toxteth (Alex and the Grapes) too. Family ran a few of them in Dingle through the years as well.
Good times, happy memories

Your sister spent her time amongst good people in a fantastic community @Joey66.
We know how to look after our own from round there. Shes a lucky girl to have lived in such a caring place, especially in todays world where nobody seems to care for anyone else any more.

I know they will have given her the send off she deserved there.
We always have done for our own.
Take care pal xx

It's a sad but at the same time wonderful thing when you are at the funeral of someone and realise they had a fine life, was the same at my Nans earlier in the year. All the best Joe
