I have no issues with people wearing them.

I have major issues with people thinking that it makes them invincible so that they can walk right next to you in supermarkets or stand for ages at the end of an aisle reading a tin of beans or whatever whilst everyone else waits for them to do something.

Usually the same type of person too.

My wife's prospects would be very poor if she picked up the virus so I've become a hygiene-awareness jerk. Having thus already been rendered a jerk, I turn it on my fellow citizens and wear a mask whenever I leave the house. I was an early adopter in my town but now more people than not seem to be doing it, though it varies by specific location. While lots of people at the supermarket have been masking, the patrons of the local liquor store are only just coming around to it; for a few weeks I was sometimes the only masked person at the packy and had to stare at gawkers until they stopped gawking. They probably just thought I was Tom Davies.

I don't care how I look to people overly concerned with fashion or freedom. If they think I look ridiculous masked, my face is no remedy.

I was in Tesco last week and some older bloke wearing a mask was walking down the aisle the wrong way. The shop assistant pointed it out to him and instead of accepting it and apologising he got right in the assistant’s face and said “listen lad, I don’t need people like YOU TELLIN ME WHAT TO DO!! I’ve got terminal cancer you know!”

As if that absolves you of any responsibility for your behaviour. Utter bell end.

I don't know how it is there, but in NY it's almost required by law when you enter any establishment. So I wear one when I have to. I do laugh at the people I see driving with one on.

I hate the mask, but I think anyone really caring if someone wears one is an idiot. It doesn't protect the person wearing it, it's a courtesy towards others. People refusing to wear one are more annoying because they're mostly attention seekers. Talking about freedom and this and that. It's so over blown with them.

They people driving with one on at least understand how this works, and aren't handling it every time they get in and out of the car, potentially spreading any germs they've picked up on their hands outside.

They should be laughing at you, if you handle your mask multiple times every trip out. You might as well not bother with it. If you're gonna do the mask thing, put it on when you leave the house and take it off when you get back.
