Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Hopefully he is a bit of a "steady Eddie"who can break play up and get us on the move, we need someone like this to let Gomes flourish I think, unfortunately Tom Davies just isn't the answer, lets hope this lad has more luck than Gbamin.
I think we'll announce his signing tomorrow but he'll play on Southampton's final game where he will proceed to fracture his skull

I know a lot of you have already said things like “If Southampton want more than £15 million walk away/Spurs can have him” but if your manager has decided that he is definitely the player needed and is worth paying a few million more for him” then you have to respect the money men for trusting the managers judgement and getting the deal done.
Don't fret, we're internet posting because we can't cut it in the footballing business. In Carlo I trust.

Hm, will wait to see some further confirmation before I believe it but if true, in nice and early, well done blues.

I find this very confusing. My only memory of this player was his interview after they got destroyed 9 nil at home to leicester. He hasn't played recently and Southampton have looked the best they have all season since he stopped playing. I'm really struggling to understand how this is the sort of player we need and feel we could have schneiderlin mark 2 on our books imminent.

Can someone please enlighten me as to the appeal with this player other than that he is out of contract next season
Not playing because they are trying to sell him. If he gets hurt, he leaves next summer for nothing. His price isnt going up for him playing. 1 or 2 teams since we came back have looked good so I wouldnt put so much into it being because he isnt starting. Says alot for a 24 year old to get the captains badge, team sitting 12th, once of the better tackling records in the prem this season, loads to grow, we dont have to see Davies, Siggy play the CM role. A 15M price tag with add ons for 25M is an absolute steal. We just have to hope for an extension once its official

£25m is fine. Not great but fine.

£35m would have been absurd.

The reason for the caution on here is because we've been rinsed over and over again with signings in recent years.

The Schneirderlin comparisons are lazy.. just because they both play midfield and for Southampton.

In Hojbjerg's defence, Hasnhuttl has been getting lots of plaudits for turning around Southampton's form and getting things back together after their 9-0 defeat. The captain and midfield general, Hojbjerg, deserves just as much credit as he would have been a focal point and a key cog in getting things back together.

I've really warmed to the idea of Hojbjerg, he's 100% an improvement in what we have and still has plenty of years ahead of him.
