It's a quantity that has literally stood the test of time. It's a perfect measure. Generally, if it's a good day, two or more pints may be drunk. However, a 2 pint glass will allow time for the beer to go flat, warm, or sun-tainted. Si going back for another pint measure is a good thing.

What needs to change is the increase in vol.
Pints have nearly doubled in strength since the 80s.

The pint pot has stood the test of time, it is so much more than mere 'tradition' it's the perfect amount for one drink.
I've never trusted anyone who drinks halfs.

A half litre is a bit smaller than a UK pint. A UK pint is 568ml.
