Pizza, how do you eat yours?

You’re on the wrong side of history here.

Pizza should never ever be eaten with cutlery.
I'm sure there's some oddball place where it is actually the done thing because the variant of pizza is too big/ messy/ etc. to pick up. Wasn't it brought up in the US elections when someone did it or didn't do it and he wasn't seen as being a true native of whatever city it was?

But generally yes, I can't help but think that if you need cutlery to eat a slice of pizza, then you may never have eaten pizza before.

An Italian guy once told me, you're supposed to fold it under - the way it naturally droops down - with your tongue, so that the cheese/topping are folded around the base - like a reverse sandwich.

It does take it to a whole new level 👌

I mean like an actual good restaurant, not your local dominos - you don't use cutlery there/for those. In a proper restaurant, yeah, I'm not gonna be a 31 year old toddler with pizza sauce everywhere on the table and my face, sorry. If the pizza allows it, maybe cut it down to smaller slices and eat with hands, but in general I prefer to leave without being a mess.

As I said, at home or in a place where you're not arsed for the mess - yeah, hands is the only correct option.

I done NY Pizza tour 2 years ago....best 4 days of my life.

Di Fara's
Luigi's both Brooklyn are the absolute Pinnacle of the New York slice

Also went to a place called Mario's classic in Hoboken which is actually New Jersey and they did a Sweet Italian sausage slice which to this day hasn't been topped.

As far as the way I eat it...if it's the New York slice with a firmer base,I'll fold down the middle and attack down the middle,if it's a Neapolitan am not ashamed to say I used a knife and fork.

Dave Pourtney seems a bit of a gargoyle but I do have a guilty pleasure in enjoying his pizza reviews.
