My wife proposed to me during New Years midnight thing once, can't see that being topped. So I just go for drinks, and see what happens.

My other half is working nights over Christmas and New Year so it's a few beers, watch a film, fast asleep by 2300 and then wake up on the sofa at about half past midnight when all the fireworks have finished.

We're celebrating our Christmas/New Year next week by going away to sunnier climes for a few days.
