does this increase or reduce our chance for making the C/L. one thing for sure it will make the fa cup important again.

I suspect this year we'll use mostly reserves and youngsters in the carling cup, and depending on where we are in UEFA by the time FA Cup 3rd round rolls along, DM will likely priortize one of them over the other.

I think it is a very good idea.

The FA Cup used to be the prestgious event on the calendar.

This will up its importance and make it a lot more competitive.

I think it's a crap idea, myself - I think it's only fair that CL place should be earned over a season. It only takes 6 games to win the FA Cup, and they can be against feeble opposition.
