Player of the season?

Really surprised there’s so many doucoure shouts. Wouldn’t even have entered my consideration.

Why though?
He runs his socks off every game, most of his games he plays really well and doesnt go missing
He has something that none of our other midfielders have.
We have been severly missing him.
No Allan and we can still play, no James and we can still (just about) play.
No Doucoure and our midfield looks limp

Without him our midfield looks limp yes. There’s a decent argument that it looks limp with him too but we’ll park that for now. I just don’t think he’s actually played that well to be honest. He’s been fine but generally unremarkable for me, I don’t really see his ability to run as being worthy of a player of the year shout. It’s all opinion like, I’m not calling people out for it, I was just surprised. Personally I’d have Godfrey, DCL, James, and Keane and sigurdsson all well above him. And anyone who’s familiar with my posts will know some of those players are a long way from being favourites of mine.

Digne has been well below his own standard most of the season. Top player but has he had a MOTM performance?

Are people not allowed to have an opinion that others are more worthy than him?

If he is so immature he would “jib us off” because some people on the internet don’t consider him our Player Of The Year then happen we would be better off without him.

Sure. But I see loads of people are picking top 3's and he doesn't even get a mention!

I can get him not being the number 1 pick as Godfrey has done well but beyond that he has 19 goals! What more do people want?

Lets face it some people will always see him as not being good enough which is what I mean about jibbing it. He has been fantastic for large parts of the season, yeah he dropped off a bit (he has been injured) but I cant get my head around him not being in peoples top 3's especially with some of the other mentions.

Doucoure 100%

Most influential player at the club at present. Record speaks for itself when he's been oot.

Allan a close 2nd had he stayed fit as looked top class before that injury.

Godfrey - just generally the most consistantly impressive. Especially considering he's new to the team and he's played in various positions.

DCL -19 goals and I get the feeling he'll get better every season.

Tie for third place between James, Mina, Keane, Doucoure, Allan, Sigurdsson and Coleman.

Shout for Pickford who improved after some dreadful mistakes and what must have been a difficult period after killing Van Dyke.

We've seen better from Richie, Digne and Holgate than most of this season.

Apologies mate, but don't get the "iffy centre backs" comment.
If there is one position that we are relatively stacked at, it is centre back in my opinion . Godfrey , Keane , Mina , Holgate etc., and Branthwaite to come back in from loan.
Compare that to RB , RW , and ST

Stacked yes... I just don't rate many of them as top premier league defenders.

I'm not sure what relevance having lots of centre backs is in a player of the season discussion? He's consistently been in the top 1-3 performers in most games he's played for me. None of the other Center Backs have, in my eyes anyway.
