Plinth heaters

Isn't this electric heating?

Does anybody ever actually read the first post?
Sorry mate, I just saw 'plinth heating' and got a little overexcited.

Hydronic ones:
Thermix KPH-1500 - gets good output output: 1260W or ~4300BTU/hr; 1450W or ~4950BTU/hr

Or..a close second

Bidex Diamond 500 hydronic plinth heater (UK manufacturer) has 3 colour options for the grille. Has a "summer and winter" switch.
It deserves attention and this crowd pleaser knows it - it is louder than other models.

Have you considered underfloor heating?

Cheers. Cant do underfloor heating without major work because of floor levels.
Is the thermix one particularly quiet? This is my main criteria.

Interesting. Do you have this? And will it lower my gas bills?
Heat is heat. The only things that really affect your bills is insulation of pipes in the loft, house insulation, draughts, efficiency of the boiler and the temperature you set on the thermostat.

Choice of radiator affects how quickly or effectively a room heats. You want fast and effective your boiler works more often and you have higher bills.

To reduce bills- reducing the temperature by 1 degree can save a lot. We always acclimatise into autumn and put up with a chill then set the stat to 18* degrees. We find other peoples houses too hot in the winter.

*used to be 15 degrees for me ... but ... you know... marriage.

Anyone got an infrared heater? Meant to use a lot less electricity than fan heaters.. just thinking for winter, for single room heating instead of Central heating the full house!
