Poll: Complete the season at neutral venues behind closed doors

But surely having thousands congregate (and its not outdoors whatever excuses are made - Goodison's concourse/toilets and seating is not remotely suitable for a pandemic) will put an unnecessary strain on that.

That guy who sits behind you screaming at the linesman for not giving us a throw in when our player clearly kicked it out, while letting loose a stream of spittle as he uses his choice words to describe said official, is going to spread it to a few people around him. Never mind when a goal goes in. It's just not realistic at all to have a crowd at a football match and not put extra strain on the NHS

That's not to say it won't happen...
Oh yeah. But that’s why empty stadia is a feasible option. Either that or no football for 12/18 months

lets hope if they do play at neutral stadiums they choose to play at the clubs that need the money instead of the top clubs who dont

Wasn't they saying that the stadiums can't be in built up areas? So that would rule out Goodison and Anfield, the likes of city and west ham in the Olympic park would be used

It is far preferable not to play at all until 21/22 by which time hopefully many will have have been vaccinated. It is pure fantasy to hope that crowds will be allowed anywhere before then. As for empty grounds with cameras we already have them in the women's game and it is unreal to watch. You would have to have commercial breaks every 20 minutes to attract sponsors to empty grounds.

Not play until 2021/22? You'd have about 5 clubs left of which Everton would not be one.

The threshold to reopen society - including live sport - won’t be after the dying has stopped; it’ll be if the health care system can accommodate the level of cases at any given time. The policy has never been to stop the virus, it’s been to slow the spread and contagion so that hospitals aren’t over-stretched.

The league should only return - either restart or new season - if the health service are in decent shape.

No, it'll be if football can follow the same rules as society. If social distancing is still a thing in June then football won't start because everyone will then ignore the rules.

Well yeah. Don’t disagree. I was making the same point but was obviously not explicit enough.

Kiss goodbye to football then in this country, every competition and club would be bankrupt or severely haemorrhaged
