What a load of rubbish, that and 5 substitutes per game. That is really fair to the lesser teams when city etc. replace half their team with more world class players when their legs are going.

it annoys me that we're supposed to treat these spoilt millionaires as some sort of superior version of humanity. If social distancing is relaxed enough for 22 blokes to play football (along with the officials, TV crews, managers/coaches, medical staff, ground staff, etc) then us mere mortals should be allowed to have a kick about in the park at the same time. until that is the case, there should be no football (behind closed doors or not)

Exactly this. Tbh there are totally mixed messages coming out. On the one hand you have Boris saying this is your moment of maximum risk, urging patience with the lockdown. And he's probably right on that. On the other hand you have Project Restart. I'm not going to repeat what all the issues with that clearly are but they absolutely clash with what your PM is urging for.

Uefa seem to really be putting the pressure on to complete the season, the Dutch and Belgians have cancelled their season, the Germans seem to be Completing theirs, so it's a mixed bag. I could see the games being played behind closed doors, but I don't get the neutral venue, it should still be at the actual grounds. Play the siren before kick off and blast z cars at them, fill the stadium with speakers and crank it up to 11, play crowd noises and chants throughout the 90 minutes
