OK enough is enough my ADBLOCK is disabled for this site, I've not posted for a few weeks because everytime i come on a f*ckking tab pops up sayin i have won an iphone in my area...not an advert a f*ckin actual new tab!!

I know i'm not a paying member yet but I will be and i've used this forum for a few years so get rid of sh!t like that or my adblock is firmly back on, I know nobody cares but still :P

Oh and by the way i'm not a complete novice on comps so i do have malware etc installed ffs

I don't know why you're sighing, I try to have adblock disabled on here for you but when i'm getting pop up tabs and i can't figure it out what am i supposed to do, instead of being high and mighty try offering some help as you obviously know more about computers than me.

The solution has been given (See, Bryan).

Keep adblock on. It will stop the popup adverts adverts, but your papering over a crack.

In January, we won't allow anyone on here to access the website with adblock on.

I did what what bryan said, i got microsoft security ran a scan, did ccleaner came on and had pop up tab.

I'm not trying to be awkward i have always had adblock disabled on here but all of a sudden i'm getting tabs and it's a hindrance when trying to read, i keep trying it out disabled but just this morning got a tab sent me to some site that plays games and it just so happened i had the advert for that site at the bottom of the page.

I don't know what i can do i have adware and malware installed etc that's about the limit of my online knowledge.

Install Grabilla, that's a screen shot software.

Try it with another browser.

Also, mate. You need to be more understanding, it's only happening to you. Nobody else. It's a localised problem.

yeah i do understand that which is why i'm a bit peeved about it, been using this site for years and not had problems just irritating when I don't know how to sort it out, I don't think it's anything serious but it's a pain.

just using firefox and eset nod32 antivrus, done a full clean with ashampoo winoptimizer as well but still happening, pretty annoying as i can't read any threads properly.

Similar thing happened to me after a Firefox update. Turned out to be an add on.Try starting Firefox in safe mode and see if the ads disappear.

Danny was very helpful when I raised it with Customer Services. Well, actually he took the p*** ... but at least that meant I knew where to look.

If that doesn't help then give sawdust a try.

That doesn't sound like me.

Standards be slipping.

(One day, people will realise I fluke this place and actually have no clue how to fix anything).

Have any of installed the Firefox add on called 'Collusion'??

It's not pop up related but rather a tab that can opened that shows what websites are tracking you. You be amazed as the spider diagram grows as you search things. We are all being tracked as its big big business these days.
