Sorry to disappoint, but the formation was used by the french and the portuguese for the last 14 years or so.
The match today was a disappointment for those who love the beautiful game. But it was very interesting from my point of view.
If Cristiano stops acting like he's the only one on the pitch we can nail any team in this World Cup.

The number 10 has extinguished in portuguese football. There is no one to take it from there.
Now is time to play in a different way. Tiago and Meireles make us play in a different way. If you recall the North Korea match, Meireles made those runs from deep and that makes a difference.
Portugal needs to be a more mechanichal side and not the flamboyant side once was.
Deco is a liability because he risks too much with the passing. He's always looking for that special pass rather than the simple one. That way he misses a lot of passes and as consequence he unbalances the team, exposing it to the counter.
We can match his vision and passing with Veloso, but he plays deeper.
So, there's no doubt we must play in a different style with more running from the midfielders and that's why Ronaldo must start playing for the team. He too anxious to THE man. Against North Korea, once he stopped shooting from all over the place and started to deliever the ball he created a goal and 2 very good chances.
