No sympathy for what's happening there. The club has prostituted itself to one shady dealer after another and this is the result.
As for the fans, while I do have some modicum of pity, I was reading one of their forums earlier (for the same perverse pleasure that has seen me on RAWK so much recently) and their general concensus was that they would rather have won the Cup and face the current strife, than to have operated like an actual football club and not have won anything.
They had a big part to play in the ludicrous salaries going around these days, and this is one thing which has affected Everton's ability to secure players (and to keep hold of them afterwards). Personally I want to see them fall through the divisions like a rock.
I wish they'd have taken Harry Redknapp with them though.
