Possible Goodison redevelopment.

Demolish the main stand and park end... Main stand is quirky but outdated, park end is not worth saving.

Build small terrace stands on those sides and you'll have a small stadium perfect for the women's team that also protects the heritage of the place
In an ideal world I'd agree. But I think the costs involved with keeping the Bullens and Gwladys wouldn't be worth it. The Park End is modern enough with unobstructed views so it would be a waste to knock it down.

Rumours or not the current plans (if unaltered) would be to demolish Goodison and build on it completely. If the club (I say the club it might be TFG) really wanted to make a statement they could still knock down Goodison and build a modern non-league stadium on the footprint. It would still leave tones of space to redevelop.

This will not happen, but a small social housing estate would be nice.

All roads etc, named after EFC greats.

Dean Way, Lawton Close, Kendall Drive, etc.

I quite liked the proposals, as it was based around maintaining a presence and not abandoning our home. It wasn't just offices that was going there, but a leading Alzhiemers and dementia research and treatment facility. Something that really hammered home that we care about our people.

I just hope that if they decide to do something else to it, it is as beneficial to the area ad it's people as it is to us as a club. It deserves that.
I didn't know about the research facilities, I thought they were more going down the offices and hotel route tbh, the research facilities would be good. It's been too quiet on the legacy project for quite some time however, I definitely think they'll go down a different path. My biggest fear was it would become a red row housing estate lol

Really should be something great and practical for the community, keep a few artefacts in place but ultimately level the place, put some astro pitches down and a gym or something with loads of history in it.

No point just having it rotting away being used once a week.
The current women’s ground is perfect for development, don’t see why they’d want to move to the goodison plot.

felt this could do with it's own thread.
There are rumors of keeping goodison for the womens team.
It's not likely the club would keep and maintain an old 40k stadium.
So how would it get redeveloped?
Remove the main stand altogether?
I presume the Park end gets kept because of it's age.
Take the top tiers off the gwladys and bullens?
level all 4 stands and build a compact 10k ground?

How woould you redevelop Goodison to cater for the womens team?

No.

It would be flattened completely.

The only other option would be to keep at least one stand maybe the Bullens, and redevelop it like Arsenal did (In to flats). That would be my vision anyway. You can't keep much else as the stadium is old, and the footprint is too big.

I think the issue is that they don't own Walton Hall Park, whereas they would obviously own the land where Goodison currently sits.

Needs to go out on a high, not become a former shell of itself, hosting 2k attendances.

I think thisnis kind of my thinking as well. I don't want the ongoing Goodison experience to be a watered down version of what it once was. I want the last game at Goodison Park to be when we play Southampton, and that's it, done. Not to then see it, as it will still be Goodison even if in a smaller form, playing host to 1500 people for the rest of it's like.

Everton Ladies also deserve to be able to build their own legacy, not be buried under the weight of Goodison.

I think it would be sad to see Goodison as anything other than the greatest of grounds, in the greatest of the sports competitions.

If Alan Ball had ever got to 60 and played in the Northern Prem, thsred be people.who would remember him solely as a 60 year old Northern Prem player. We can't do that to Goodison.

That is the plan. But they (New owners) have not decided if they are going to do up WHP either yet. Talks have gone on for months, even before the new owners came in about Goodison (While there was a meeting few weeks ago), . Now we have Money, we can do whatever they want
Didn't know there were plans ,I posted before I'd seen the Athletic article. It would be good for locals to go and see the U21's etc and give a little bit of trade to the local area. However I don't see it being economically viable for the club . I bet the residents of Gwladys St. and Goodison Road would welcome a bit of daylight though

The current Everton Women's ground is around 2.2k (500 seated) so the Park End alone would double their capacity.
The most pragmatic thing to do would be to keep the Park End as is the newest stand and likely has the least maintenance costs.
I would imagine that the other 3 stands would be wholly or partly demolished as their up-keep costs would be significant relative to the revenue of the women's team. Although they might choose to keep the lower tiers and re-roof them. Capacity at a rough guess would be around 20-25k if they did that.

right, but if they want to use it for the womens team, they at least keep the pitch.
What else?
I'd presume they'd keep the park end due to it's age and lower maintenance costs.
I'd imagine they'd probably have to level the other 3 sides and put in non league type stands.

I think womens attendances will only increase from now on, and if we knocked down the Main stand and improved the seating in the Bullens and Gwladys, we'd have a 22-25,000 seater stadium for them to gradually grow into.
