Please bring them back. I would like to see if I am catching Chico up or even Goat. When one can see the number of posts made and nearing the next thousand it is good to witness another milestone on GOT.

Please reinstate them.

Thinking about it, I agree. I was a bit intimidated at first with the bad online spammers hitting 20,000 posts.

If you really want to level it out though, as much as it pains me to say it, maybe making the rep system a bit less visual might be of help. I like it, but it might even it out a bit.

A great Partisan idea. Make all us equal D/D.

Would also love to see smilies and avatars took away too like.

how did you know that 1000 equated to that much ?

Because before they took the post count away I was at around 950 and my valuation was £3.50 million. So I knew that when I was at 1000 posts it would go to £4 million.

Now that I know I'm past 1000 posts, I'm in favor of not having post counts and valuations, but keeping rep and avatars.

We removed them on a temporary basis to see how it would pan out.

Post count is a feature that is never questioned on a forum. Removing it from view took some effort, there is no feature to simply turn it off so clearly, taking the effort to remove it was done with some thought that it would benefit the forum. One reason being some newer members being actually intimidated by members with a vast post count. As silly as it may sound, it's actually true. It is hoped removing it from open view will encourage a more level playing field and with a bit of luck, encourage more of the 95% of our readers who never actually post.

Though the decision is by no means definite. I'm open ears to suggestions as to why a post count is required - other than for allowing the tedious, spam like "WOW I've reached 2,000 posts".

As a compromise, I could try and work out a way for a members to view their own post count.

Fair enough mate, i never thought of it like that. Anything that encourages new posters and the such is great. But if there was a way we could still see privatly or on our 'about me' pages it that would be great. I know its silly but i just like to look at post counts, dunno why, just like it.

Have to disagree with this mate. It look me months to realise there was even a rep system on here and i think it should stay personally, this and Player Valuations are nice little added extras i think.

.

Avatars MUST STAY, they add colour and freshness, plese keep em, but the smilies going wouldn't distress me too much, BB will hate it when he is back
