As discussed here, we've today started trialling a new post rate system.

Previously members could 'Like' a post. Now, they can 'Like' or 'Dislike' ('KOF') a post. Those who have been posting for a while will remember it being similar to the rep system, but without the ability to comment.

The developers reckon it;

• Increases daily posts.
• Improves signal to noise ratio; less short/unnecessary posts
• Improves quality of posts (posters want to avoid negative ratings)
• Makes lurkers useful for something and gives them a means of interaction

And, it can help self moderate - there's a setting that allows 'x' amount of dislikes to place a post in a moderation queue.

We'll be tweaking the system over the next week or two to see if it can work. Be mindful that if we notice people taking the piss with it (targeting members etc) then we'll revoke access and it'll be a mark in the against category for the feature...

I think a lot of the dislikes I received were just errors from posters who clicked thumbs down rather than thumbs up...them being so close together.

That's the only thing that explains it for me.

I can only imagine seeing as his presence hasn't been felt with a multi that perhaps you're right. It could genuinely be that man.

I think we can declare the initial Post Ratings a massive success and therefore clear the path for a full return of a reputation system with neg rep capability @GrandOldTeam. Thank you on behalf of the peoples.

To be totally honest the veggie thread I created the other day was just Prev-Bait to see if I could coax out any active multis he had, he'd have been all over that thread under his normal id. Sadly, the results were inconclusive.

Because he's using a stealth multi to just neg. No posting, just negging. Then when it's all quiet he goes after one or the mods.

It's a clever trick he's pulling.

I like this system. It's interesting the response you get from some posters over one line 'koff to a post of theirs. I miss neg rep, but hope this stays
