They made the decision today.
Mad irresponsible from all involved. Even having congested fixture lists at all is irresponsible - you're having 2-3 day turnaround times with no way whatsoever of being certain multiple squads aren't compromised.
The decent thing would be 11-0No problem, we will take the 3-0.
Hard lines City.
THISThe way Covid is spreading right now you have to say that there is a a significant chance the season is not going to be fully concluded.
I'd rather they bend over than put our players at riskThe source is dreadful though. I'd like to see the actual rules or guidance.
If Everton have bent over on this I'll be furious.
This might be a wild take but my guess is our team didn't want to put themselves at a higher risk of getting COVID.It’s quite possible that we could have kicked up a fuss and demanded the game be played, but were quite happy with the postponement tbh. In fact, that’s quite likely.
I don't know that it is true. The NFL has had a couple of outbreaks and they've found maybe a person or two being irresponsible but largely it is just a widespread virus that is really contagious and people training for sports are close together a lot.
We’re all insane AND crazy? Thanks xYou people are insane if you think any of these matches are going to be forfeited b/c of COVID.
the Premier League is just like the NFL, way too much money involved. One NFL team had to play a game with out a freaking QB b/c of COVID - games are simply not going to be forfeited.
And we are just hitting the stride of winter right now - if you think this is the only time this is going to affect one of our games this season you're crazy. It'll likely happen to us at some point, and at least one other of our opponents - these postponements will happen more an more frequently as we move on. I'm just amazed it hasn't happened yet
They could change in their hotel and if the UK virologists aren't telling porkies it's not aerosol spread so taking basic precautions the game could be completed safely....if a number of City players/staff have tested positive, there has to be a possibility that others testing negative also have it. The big risk is transmitting it into our camp.
That was only because they ran out of time to shoehorn in the game.Yeh they made them play so city should have been made to play their youth team if necessary
All it takes is a players wife to come in to contact with the wrong person at the shops and several people could be affected within days.also there should be some form of punishment for city. not for the cancellation but for the irresponsible behaviour of the squad to compromise the bubble
From the Bbc "Based on strong medical advice the Premier League, in consultation with both clubs, have decided to postpone the fixture."It’s quite possible that we could have kicked up a fuss and demanded the game be played, but were quite happy with the postponement tbh. In fact, that’s quite likely.
