Hey everyone check out my crazy multi-quote message:

Will it? I feel as if they are bullet proof. The litany of ineptitude and horrific failures which they have "achieved" in the past years seems like enough to create sufficient pressure from fans ... and yet they clapped for the c....

No but almost every single other team has had multiple managers in that timespan because not a single one of them has found a manager who can sustain success without money (and many have failed to find one who can succeed with money). However we have our ace in the sleeve: Bill Kenwright. He will surely succeed where all others fail.

Martinez is usually top of the illustrious "fewest goals scored" charts.

If Lescott had gone to the RS instead and then we beat the RS almost every time we played them (as we do City) are we even having this discussion? Bloody Lescott has screwed us over again!

This wasn't directed at me but we can probably discuss this without intimating fellow Evertonians are cowards. Lurkers are people too (I think).

I do like how the thread has turned to people arguing about the hypothetical replacements. Does nicely highlight how a good portion of those who want Moyes out will be immediately unhappy with the replacement.

But barring some spectacular meltdown at the Euros it doesn't seem like the England thing will happen again any time soon so it's not as if the same thing could happen next season. I suppose the tax dodging (or whatever the hell that was ... was there a horse involved?) is worrying. Point is (and I don't want him here) he was the one who got them into third or whatever. How do you blame him for the dip (and fourth not being CL was unlucky) and not credit him for the initial form? Levy seems to be acting as if the team is destined to win and Harry is holding them back rather than he is a factor (perhaps large) when they do well. That kind of illogical selective criticism nonsense is for us fans not a supposed professional. They could do a lot worse.

But by not being privy to the full facts, Redknapp could've wanted more money for his 3 years and Levy must've thought, no I could attract a bigger manager for that price.

They're in the best position they have been for years, levy may think redknapp can't take them further or keep them there so will look elsewhere.

Big name coach comes in, players may stay. It's why Moyes won't be looked at to replace him.

Villa need about 7 players and don't have the money. The RS might turn up. Newcastle will buckle with the amount of games in Europe.

And as I've said, they can attract better talent and pay higher wages. Bale won't go for anything less than 30mill, Modric 20mill, Van de vaart will probably stay and you'd get about 9mill for him or so. Moyes at Spurs would keep pienaar, throw the bale money at Fellaini, snoop around for gems he doesnt have the cash to buy at Everton, and be in.a better position than are.

They finished 18 points above us or so. The gap is massive. There won't be a firesale at spurs unless a club is wanting to spend big.

That's the only thing that would make spurs
look for a bigger name...someone to keep their players.
the gap WAS massive. whole nother ball game next season la

Villa do need a lot of work but Lambert has a good core in Given, Dunne, N'Zogbia, Albrighton, Bent and Agbonlahor. A couple of decent bosmans or loans, some of their young players finding their feet and better organisation could see them being a much stronger proposition.

The RS have a good defence. If Saurez, Gerrard and new signings (Sigurdsson) can nick a goal at the other end they could be in the mix.

I do think Newcastle will take a step backwards. They've neutralised Ba to make Cisse more effective, their defence isn't the most solid, they don't have depth, Ashley and Pardew are bound to self-sabotage and Europe will take it out of them.

Spurs apparently have a wage cap of £70k. It sounds like they'd want £40m upwards for Bale but that Barca are looking at cheaper alternatives. Going off how Levy played hardball with Chelsea over Modric, I think he'd rather sell fringe players rather than the crown jewels. How much would they get for Defoe, Pienaar, Dos Santos, Gomes, Bentley, Bassong and Jenas? Maybe £30m? Will they find buyers? I understand that Redknapp was told to cut the wage bill before he was allowed to bring in any more high earners. Bentley and Jenas in particular have found first team opportunities hard to come by. Would Villa actually pay for the latter? As we've found with Yobo, Yakubu and Saha, sometimes you have to virtually give players away to get them off the wage bill.

Spurs went off like a rocket last year, whereas we had our usual pedestrian start. How would they have got on without Adebayor or if Bale got injured? All things being equal, I think we can pretty much match them.
