Problem neighbours

And we complain about property factoring.

Usually the HOA board has a closet racist, 50+ y/o, who goes around the neighborhood on one of these

with their husband and/or wife or kids, just looking for someone to harass in some way. HOA's were invented (IMO) by the closet racists of middle class America to gentrify the black and Hispanic populace who were moving in to middle class neighborhoods as they gained in financial status, although they like to disguise it as ""maintaining property values". You almost can't find a home in this state at least or (it seems) any state that's experienced rapid growth over the last 15-20 years that's not in an HOA, it's disgusting. HOA's also foster the building epidemic of neighbors not talking to one another like in the past.

Again, this is all my opinion; good for you if you pay (oh yes, there are fee's) to live in one but I think you're perpetuating a problem, Karen....🤫.

Where was the 1st ones...the deep south?

There's one absolute arse pain in my street. Quite a troubled soul in social housing, single mom, but by christ they test sympathy. Fortunately not right next door.

A revolving door of dodgy boyfriends who either end up kicking off, or seem to attract people who kick off at them. Blatantly calling down dealers and buying in the street. Some of the older residents, who live closer, are starting to feel a bit threatened/upset by it all, in particular.

Feels mean spirited to complain to the council, but it really does destroy the peace when someone is kicking off at half 4 on a Sunday morning and the cops rock up. Again.

Anyone had to deal with similar?
Yes we had the same and they were right next door. Unfortunately they were the end of the road so nobody on the other side to help us when we needed. Within the first week the fella had jumped over the back fence running from the police and broke the trellis, before falling into our garden like a bag of you know what. He went down for a few weeks for a prior crime. As soon as he came out he turned up with 2 dogs then decided to leave them in the house whilst him and his bird went on holiday. We had to call police, housing and RSPCA. From that moment on we were his prime target. How the housing didn’t boot them out at that point I’ll never know. A few days after that we discovered that he’d thrown white gloss all over the front of the house and car when we were a sleep. We had no proof, police couldn’t do anything so we bought cameras. Then Covid hit and they didn’t give a hoot. Parties every other day etc. We were the only ones calling the housing/police. Again, nothing done.

The rat then started shouting abuse at my Mrs when I wasn’t around. I didn’t see him for weeks. Turns out he was in prison again for something else.

First night out of prison he came back threw gloss all over the house and car again. Cameras picked it up, police said they couldn’t positively ID him. Ridiculous.

Then one day, the police turned up and dragged him out the house. Found out he didn’t go to court for something and he had a warrant out. The balloon was hiding in the loft. About a week later the house was empty. We sued the housing for not taking action over the course of 2.5 years. We also ended up getting restraining orders against the pair of them.

Also, my Mrs is visually impaired and has a guide dog. On one occasion he mounted the kerb in his van and tried to hit her and the dog. By the time I got home from work he’d gone, police called, nothing. I’d had a few fights with him but I would have killed him that day.

We had no support from anyone in our street and they get blanked whenever they try and let on.

Christ, you had a proper head banger to deal with.

Being fair to my irritants, it's all self-contained, never aimed at anyone else, but the spill over when someone in that circle kicks off is the issue.

You hit several nails on the head there mate.

The problem with feral families like this, is that the rules of society and common decency have no meaning to them, they may as well be living in a cave as a house.

You call the police - you`re a grass and you get your property damaged.
You call the council - you`re a grass and you get your property damaged.
You fill in him and you end up in a war with him and his pikey relatives, dragging your missus and kids into it.
You try and get a restraining order or an injunction and it takes months and months and means nothing to them anyway.
You can`t move, as your house is worth nothing due to them.
If you`re renting, all you can do is run your lease down and move, even if you don`t want to.
You`re neighbours are just glad that it`s your family getting it and not theirs, so stick their heads in the sand.
The Police don`t want to know, as it`s classed as " low level " and they`ve not got the numbers to deal with stuff like this properly.

I admire your restraint mate, as I don`t know whether I`d have been as reasonable as you.
