Professional football players.

I just read this and was wondering do those on here that live in Liverpool ever see professional players around the city? If so do you engage with them ask for a photo or autograph.. say things to Liverpool players?

Seen Baines in town during the day. Just stared. Also seen him cycling the other way along the prom between Crosby and Hightown.

Was with my kid when I saw Yerry in Zara. He was happy taking photos with others so I asked. He was sound about it.

Every now and then. Not really bothered by it though. I was in that Panoramic a couple of years back and Tom Cleverley was sat right near me acting like a real bell. Stood in a queue with Distin once as well and had that awkward moment where he clocked me recognise him as I did a double take then just looked at the floor. I'm not here to massage their egos. Good for the kids though when they see them as long as they don't act like idiots. I was hoping to come staggering out Smokey Mo's to see Balotelli throwing notes at people when he played across the park but it never happened the selfish sod.

I sat at a table opposite Romero Funes Mori in one of the restaurants in Trafford Centre a few years ago. Most recently was shopping for last Christmas and I passed John Barnes on the stairs in L1.

Gareth Barry tried to buy my ex a drink on a night out in Manchester during his Man City days. She had no idea he was a footballer until her mate told her. I told her if it happens again just go through with it and the money we get from Hello magazine will ease the pain for me.

In the 1940's we regularly saw players on the tram or bus. It was thought to be bad manners to hassle them for autographs etc., Once asked Ted Sagar for his autograph after a game (waited ages for it) but he said he was in a hurry to catch his tram. Not many players could afford cars in those days.

Danny Cadamarteri, Alex cleland and someone else who i am not sure who they were, were going into a bike shop i was comming out of after off course they must have been on a bike Ride, in west Derby back in time, dont think ive even seen anyone else

Saw Fellini in Meat restaurant but never as for his autograph as I was slagging him off a day earlier,

In my Asda days I served Courtino 4 times but had no clue who he was till a customer said.
Served Mane, he was wearing a big green dress, smiled at me like I should no who he was, wasn’t till I seen the gold I realised who he was.
Met... what’s his name.. was a CB or LB/RB for us, young kid, went to Sunderland.

Finally seen Coleman running we a child seat to his car on menlove avenue

If i saw a baller i know, I'd only go and bother them if I had something nice or interesting to say - like thank them for whatever pleasure they brought yo the club. This would most likely be a one-club man or a legend, not your average mercenary.

They're just extraordinarily well paid humans who are good at a game after all. I don't get the need to see them writing their name, or ask for a photo of their gritted teeth smile next to me.

Should have kicked the fat melt down them.

I see a fair few in work and over the years have had a few decent chats with them. The older players are far more relaxed with talking as there not arsed as people won’t ask them for a photo.
Stayed at a hotel in London once with the Mrs and the whole of the Sky soccer Saturday team were there drinking in the bar. Watford were also staying at the hotel, typical the week before Stelling said to me that Everton had also stayed over. Stelling was sound. Nicholas was a tit. Le Tiss was sound as well.

When my dad was down visiting us a couple of years ago he was staying at the hotel most prem teams stay in when they play Saints.
He was sat eating his breakfast when Louis Saha walked past and saw the Everton badge on his shirt. Sunderland we’re staying there. Louis sat down and apologised to him for not winning us the FA Cup !
James McFadden then came and sat down and chatted away for the whole of the meal about footy. He was a cracking lad apparently.
Met loads of Everton players over the years and I’m sad enough to have asked them for photos with me I’m afraid.
