Stayed in the same hotel as the England team in 2005, just outside Newcastle.

Jamie Carragher tried it on with my missus in the swimming pool and I was on the treadmill next to both of the Neville brothers and Paul Scholes. Saw David Beckham in one of the corridors, he’s only small in real life.

Sol Campbell is a giant !

See Coleman all the time with his family. Incredibly down to earth and got time for everyone.

Pre the virus used to see Graham Stuart all the time at the kids rugby - his lad ( older ) plays for the same club as my lad - he’s just one of the parents and a sound fella.

Used to regularly see Dirk Kuyt with his family, another sound fella off the pitch. Did loads for local charities, but had very questionable dress sense - dressed like a cowboy !!!

See loads of RS players in Tesco’s by us, as a lot of them live near to each other on an estate by us. Matip looks like a basket ball player, he’s that tall and skinny !

Used to see Fernado Torrres quite a lot too - didn’t smile much !

Alan Harper and Peter Eastoe play in the same cricket team as a load of my mates - sound lads.

Used to see Bainsey and Gerrard a lot in Alder Hey, as they’re Ambassadors for the hosy.

Gerrard, like Beckham, is only slight in real life.

Asking for an autograph is for 8 years olds
Asking for a photo as a man is for bellends
Asking for an autograph or photo as anyone of any age is fine. Being a judgmental crank is for bellends.

Pre-apocalypse me and the missus went to the Grand National every year and in the room we were in, Graeme Sharp was there every year. Also saw Graham Stuart and Davey Weir in there, as well as Dalglish and Ian Ayre. Stuart and Weir were by far the soundest of the lot. Ayre was a really nice fella, and all.

Saw Gary Speed in Chester not long after he left us. Absolutely bottled acknowledging him and just stared like a bit of a meff.

Saw Michael Branch outside the Buzz in town the evening he made his debut for us.

He was standing outside shouting "do you know who I am" to the bouncers who said "Yeah it's all over the papers that you made your debut at 16 today so you are not getting in".

Used to see Richard Dunne and Jason Kearton quite often in the Paradox which was I always found to be an odd combo. Dunne always seemed to be very emotional, saw him crying once, Kearton was lovely but wore horrendous shirts.

Also went through a stage of seeing John Barnes every day for a week in random places, it was beginning to do my head in, it was the week running up to a Superbowl and when I turned it on to watch it on BBC there he was on the panel! Couldn't escape him at all.

Funny you should mention airports.

I once bumped into Collina at Liverpool arrivals, about 3 years after that incident. One of the lads with us at the time goes "Ayyy! Duncan Ferguson", and never seen anyone look more terrified in my life, nor have i seen anyone move so quick!
I met Pakie Bonner in a hotel at Dublin Airport chatted for about 20 minutes, he's responsible for one of my fondest childhood memories when he saved the Penalty in the last 16 of the world cup against Romania. He's a sound man.

The only times I asked for a picture was with Joe Royle at a sportsman dinner and Kilbane when he came to Barrow for football focus when we reached the 3rd round of the cup a few years back. Mark Lawrenson was there as well (he was a late replacement for Paul Ince) but ran away as soon as the show stopped filming.

My Sister was working for the club at the time and said Kilbane and Dan Walker were really really nice, Lawrenson was a miserable t**t.

When I have seen the odd player on the street, etc. it would feel so weird just to go up to them and disrupt their day, they could be doing something normal but important, etc. My mate said that he was sat a few tables away from Fellaini in a restaurant and although busy chatting to his friends/family and eating, people kept on going over, it is just plain rude, in my opinion.

Saw Magaye Gueye outside Alma de Cuba with Fellaini's brother

Went to school with John Flanagan, Adam Morgan, Ste Irwin

Been in a steam room with Lee Carsley and Aldo

Saw Distin get into his bit on the side's car at Knutsford services after a league cup away game and we got a pic with Moyes

we were 16 when we got the photo, probably wouldn't do that now
