A window into the mind of some very selfish people

Clicked on that and this came up .....

FSG and the Glaziers getting hammered tonight by the panel on Talksport. They even mentioned the timing of it, waiting for the COVID crisis to win the support of the lower clubs to make it appear they are the knights in shining armour coming to the rescue of the lower clubs, when the reality is they are only looking after their own interests.

That’s American capitalism and culture for you, strike when things are bad. Hurricane wiping out half of downtown Texas? Privatise the public services business blown away.

It’s just good they’ve scored a massive own goal, so much so I’m relieved today it seems to have no legs. They’ll get a few concessions from it that we can live with, a few less cup games and more time to tour Asia.

As per a point in my previous post, I think the league should start talking about what they want to do so we can plan for Big 6exit. I expect 5 years worth of windfall payments to support the English game after they fook off to play Athletico Madrid 4 times a season for the most boring, tactical stalemates 0-0’s in the history of football. A decade of Europe’s elite taking the trophies will soon see the gloryhunters wanting back into our system.

Let's have it right.
Getting rid of two teams and the league Cup in anticipation of protecting players is bull.

The champions league is being extended
Pre season tournaments extended

Its that basically. Money.

Also, the stipulation that teams can manage they're own TV deals for 8 games a year.
Why would Sky pay top
There goes the TV money.
dollar when clubs are removing the top games from them.
?

Anyone who thinks we will benefit in this is deluded
Exactly
I and thousands of others could tell you what those 8 games are
Big 9,each with 8 home games against each other
The big 9 will be told to use those 8 home games to freeze sky out
Sky leave and the big 6 take over
Sky left with a super Sunday of
Burnley vs Wolves
Newcastle vs Aston Villa
Fulham vs Brighton
Who will pay for that

Turned it on and the first thing I heard was the Sun reporter saying when Marcus Rashford plays at Anfield he'll get a standing ovation. Turned it off. Still as terrible as it once was.

The RS and UTD seem to have upset quite a few journos and media people with this, the same people who bend over backwards for them usually, hopefully this is the start of the media finally turning on the two scum clubs and bringing them back down

I wish. But then they did say I’m sure the fans of Liverpool and United are equally disgusted by their owners actions. RAWK suggests otherwise, but should we really be surprised.

Controversial but would Moshiri/Usmanov support this if they think it keeps them in a "top 7" going forward?
The only reason they wouldn't would be if the new overlords could in some way interfere with our, um, interesting ownership structure. If they couldn't, then the only irritation Usmanov and Moshiri would have is the fact that they haven't been consulted as fellow conspirators. The problem for Usmanov and Moshiri, as I see it, is that the very people who are most threatened by them are the very ones who would make the rules. In that sense, it is untenable for them at the moment.

In reality, I think this ruse is simply a desperate, opportunist scam to set the current elite in concrete because the "new normal" has upended the status quo and endangered the likes of United and Arsenal in particular. They don't want the likes of Newcastle getting Saudi owners. Neither do I, but my concerns with human rights abuses are not the concerns that make them unlpalatable to the closed shop. It's bad enough that Everton and Aston Villa have billionaires and Leeds are on the up. Even Leicester and Wolves are feeling competitive. The foundations of the castle they took for granted are crumbling. Gate receipts are gone. James Rodriguez is at Goodison Park. The four horsemen of the apocalypse are banging at the gates.

There's nothing to stop Liverpool and United proving their bona fides by proposing the very same plan - minus the bit that gives them eternal power. The very fact that they won't tells you all you need to know about this "idea."

If this goes ahead it’ll basically be like ‘Animal Farm’, everyone will think they’re getting a great deal at the start, but then the ones who made the rules will bend and break them to suit their own agendas. The ones at the bottom will never get to the top, the ones on top will never fall from grace.
It's never going to happen. It's not for United or Liverpool to decide, they don't govern English football thankfully, neither do their American owners.
