Doesn’t have to be lately. 50s 60s 70s, 80s … up to now. Never a place to hangoutBeen to Newtown lately? Swerve
I'd swerve the town centre for a beer on a match day.I went to uni in Wolves, great city.
Our halls were right next to the ground, you could see a bit of pitch from the kitchen.
The Wanderer right next to the ground is a friendly place but i wouldn't go on a match day as an away fan.
You can walk from the centre to the ground doesn't take long and you could park yourself in O'Neills or something and won't get any trouble.
Great people in the Black Country, only real trouble i saw was when they played the Brom.
I'd serve the town centre for a beer on a match day.
Wolves uni, huh? I had a mate who chose to go there. You know why? Choice of gigs in the Civic and Wulfrun back in the late 90s.
As good a reason as any I guess.
It's a much maligned place, that's for sure, but not as bad as many make out. Really suffered in the 80s, like many working class regions. The students and the university are pretty important to the City. Worked at the Uni a long time ago, the University owned half the city centre and between it and the students they generated significant economic benefits.I chose it for literally no reason apart from it did my course, it was close enough to get home sometimes for the footy and i enjoyed the hilarious accent.
I'd never been there before and didn't know anything about it, i was late picking somewhere and just looked at a list and picked it in 2 mins with very little consideration.
Had a great time there though which is the main thing i wanted to accomplish ha.

i agree,i just cringe a bit when villa, stoke, burnley and others sing songs about us living in slums lol!Not many cities are as good as Liverpool so not really a fair comparison. Birmingham is a good city to live in these days.
Laughable, especially off The Vile, I'm a Black Country wench from Halesowen but living in Dudley now.i agree,i just cringe a bit when villa, stoke, burnley and others sing songs about us living in slums lol!
