what does 1000k equate too in £?

why qwerty?

dont forget to squirrel some away for a rainy day.

and a good schooling means positive review by word of mouth (fancy that for a language school) so the more you put in the more you get out in the long run.

omg.. i was so drunk when i made this thread..

i'll be honest there are some questions there i just plain can't answer.. lol!

a language school takes it's profit from the school fees. of course these are paid on a monthly basis.. so all figures are taken from money taken in for the january session.

basically we have covered the costs of the school, rent and the like and we have a grand over which is the profit. considering the school has not opened yet this is quite remarkable. as suits said it is all about word of mouth, so we need to retain the students we have signed and continue to have more register. we have seven more placement tests lined up for saturday which all fall directly in to the profit column.

i'll keep the running commentary to a minimum so i'll update the chaps in a few months on how it is going. fingers crossed!!

congrats,

I'd celebrate with a styrofoam cup of piping hot silkworm larvae.

mmmmmmmm.

and a bloody ageema.

same recipe as a bloody mary - replace vodka with soju.

whoa whoa whoa delilah

How does Korean cash translate to the Great British pound? (I suspect favourably atm)

Do you have any employees or are you flying solo for the time being? how many classes a day? how many days a week? and what are weekends like there?

is that 1000 after paying teacher and staff salaries as well? if so that's remarkable for having not even started the school yet. congratulations mate and best of luck!

we opened on monday. i'm so tired! i've never worked so hard in my life!!

we have 34 students so far (which is amazing as i was hoping for 10 when we opened the doors).

it is a monthly figures game.. but the projected turnover this year is fifty grand! (figures from students we have now... but tbh i'm looking to double that by the years end).

i should have done this years ago!!!

i'm just waiting for it to all come crashing down (doesn't it always!!)

great to hear about new business ventures going great in the current financial climate. I'm happy for you Tep and hope that you can continue to turn a profit in difficult times. (y)

Well done Teppic !!!

As I always tell people:

When things are going good, salt some of your quid away in savings. Your success may last a very long time but if you happen to have an off year, you'll have something to fall back on if need be.

I'm confident that between advertising, word of mouth, etc..., you'll continue to knock the cover off the ball.
