Been pokin me redneck mates , tellin them not to worry their too good to go down . the depression clouds are inky black for them .Proper little schraudenfreunde ive been .

I was going to be a ex season ticket holder, supporting the club since Istanbul. I gave the season ticket to another fan from Finland after the game. I was going to be outraged at the scouseness has been ripped out of the soul of the club and after the rant, start referring Benitez and then act dumbfounded when told he was no longer the manager.

That would have been so funny I would have probably died.

Looks like Mascherano knew the ship was sinking and jumped with the last life vest.

sadly he has taken his chronic shititis and gone and spread it amongst barcelona's team, who were lucky to get 1-1 at home against mallorca last night

Had some plank from the ironically named Spirit of Shankley, on SSN - could only stand 10 seconds of it, said we never asked for debt. Well if your Spanish fat **** of a manager didn't waste millions, then maybe you would have been successful and the debt would have been managed.

Morons, the lot of em.

Hang on a minute Ghost, Benitez's spending did not put the club into debt. A leveraged buyout by its American owners did that. They basically bought the club for nothing using the club itself as collateral. The debt from that was loaded onto the club. The 200 - 300 million owed isn't the result of Benitez going on a spending spree. Had they won everything in sight, it wouldn't have done much to alleviate the debt from the purchase

What I do find interesting, is how rapidly they've fallen though. We are talking about a side that had champions league football the past 15 seasons. That have spent consistently (even if not in the Chelsea/united/city regions) and have had a settle squad. They sold Benayoun (a bigger player for them than they realised), Alonso (one of their true world class players but he wanted out), Mascherano. Other than that its a similar team to the one that finished 2nd not so long ago.

Still I remember when we sold Hutchinson and John Collins (both starters in midfield at the time) in one off season and we were terrible - simply because the midfield couldn't find its feet. They've lost 3 starting midfielders over the last two years and Torres has lost form. That's been enough to see them spiral ever lower.

Their fans are right to blame the americans, although Benitez bought so much deadwood and dross, they'd be in a much stronger position if they'd have had a better manager at the helm.

Yes the yanks are to blame for the debt, but dont forget it was Rafael's continued spending on wages and transfer fees (all of which was of course approved of by the yanks) that left them unable to clear enough of the debt to prevent it spiralling out of control. Even the RS concede that it was on average £16 million a year.

Liverpool could be joining us next season.

To be fair that would be a great fixture. A result like this wouldn't be too bad either:

Just replace Viduka with Somma.(y)

that is puzzling, and I've seen the turnover and wage figures on here. I can only speculate the yanks thought this increased wage spending would pay off in trophies, kudos and buyers interest, would prove to be self sustaining with rising TV money, and also that they would have found a buyer by now.

You've got to hand it to them, they really are through purely selfish interests, not so much runnning the club into the ground as burying it ten miles deep in [Poor language removed].

Makes Kenwright, whatever anyone says, look like father christmas.

From RAWK;

I already mentioned before that i think the players(headed by carra and sammy) are pulling a mutiny and "allowing " the team to be relegated. I think its noble especially in these times of exhibition, mafia style hoarding of a great sport. Its totally corrupt at the top and why not return to the 1st division. It sounds so more normal than that royal sounding BPL,best league in the world malarky...**** that ,its a circus conducted by sky sports in the center ring.

They really will invent any fantasy imaginable to make themselves look good.

In the relegation zone? No, of course we're not playing crap, it's obviously that our team is so noble and heroic that they want to get relegated.

Love how they've also been suicidal over not winning the Premier League for 20 years, but as soon as they slip away from the upper echelon the PL becomes just a "circus conducted by Sky Sports in the centre ring".
