I can’t stand the man and wish with every bone in my body he wasn’t here, but here’s the thing, I support Everton football club and if Benitez does well then that means the club have done well and to me that’s all what matters, but that doesn’t mean I have to lick Benitez’s crack piece like some on here and if we do do well as a club then he won’t be getting any plaudits off me because he’ll be doing the job he’s paid well to do.

This is essentially what I feel.

Can't stand the bloke. Disrespectful busted flush of a manager, but if he wins us something I'll tolerate him (and that's all I'll do).

In reality, we compete for the positions in the interval 6 - 12. If we are closer to 6th place than 12th place, we have had a good season.

To a degree yes.

Though at present he has inherited a side that got 59 points, so I use that as a base. He has not come in mid season to a side in quite acute difficulty.

problem is the competition is much worse now than say wnen Silva was here. West Ham Villa Leeds all suddenly fancy it, so it's getting more difficult every year, especially when our rivals are investing and we are stuck dead in the water.

But teams get better and worse dont they? They are better, but other teams have dropped off. There are always going to be good and bad teams in a league.

Moyes isn't a bad manager but he's also not a great one anymore. It was one good season and he finished 6th.
No sure from what you say whether I agree, or disagree, mate. I believe Moyes has been, and still is, a very good manager. Things in any job sometimes don't go as well as they should, given one's ability, and other times you benefit from a following wind and do better than you really deserve. I'd certainly put him in the top half dozen Premier League managers, anyway. To be honest, I would rather have had Moyes back, armed with a few quid, that fly-by-night, yesterday's man Ancelotti. Deffo more than the current incumbent, even though I'm far from a RB hater.
