Another injury to contend with.

He won't want a free pass but he certainly has one with these injuries - absolutely mental how many we've had this season.

Is this how low are expectations as a fan base have sunk ?

Just existing, with no hope, no ambition, other than to avoid relegation until the new stadium is built.

Up till now I have refrained from posting in this thread since he's been manager. I didn't want him I don't like him because he's arrogant. But I will give him a chance and hope he does well because that means we have done well..He's not had much money to spend and been unlucky with injuries but some people on here just go overboard about him. In fact I honestly think some posters on here would actually perform felatio on him. Well I say this to you would be Benitez Buglers I will give him respect when he earns it . Until then I will be keeping my lips dry.

Why should we or they be expecting anything less than what we got from a near-identical squad last year?

The way Evertonians have just accepted this kopite as manager and that we seemingly deserve to be finishing at the bottom of the table astounds me.

Anceotti finishes 10th last year and we're currently joint 10th, so I don't see a massive difference there.

I'm no fan of Benítez but people have a very short memory of how bad the football was second half of last season. We had the 14th highest possession last season and 17th this season, so not like we were dominating teams under Carlo either.

I’m sorry mate, I’m going to have to disagree, as I haven’t spent the last twenty years of my life supporting Everton , with no expectations at the start of every season, other than avoiding relegation.

I find it incredibly sad this is how low we have sunk as a club, if this is all that’s left for fans like you.

These are not my expectations for Everton, these are my expectations of how I think the board view these next few seasons.

Possession appears to have dropped, yes. But as every football fan knows, possession means absolutely nothing. Leicester won the league with the 18th highest possession stats that year (which FYI is similar to what ours currently is).

People need to wake up and accept reality for what it is - a club 26 years without a trophy, 5 years since we last finished in the european spots, little money to spend whilst the books are being balanced after years of financial mismanagement on top of loads of injuries to key players in the squad who are largely a bang average bunch.

Give Frank Lampard the job and see where he has us - it wont be top 6 it'll be 8th-12th which is our current level.

Nope, don't think any of them done/doing a good job. This was only in reference to you:

We were fighting for Europe all last year and now all Benitez' fans want to make out like we have a relegation squad.

It doesn't matter that we were 2nd at one point, what matters is we finished 10th and were booted out of all the cups as usual.

I understand people want rid of Benitez for cause he's a kopite, but if you were satisfied with Ancelotti then you have no ground to stand on really - little has changed.

But you said when it was announced that Doucoure was injured that it would hassen Rafas departure, how, only be losing games which we will without main players like Doc, if you want Everton to win you are supporting Rafael, so whats it to be, are you a Rafael fan or do you want Everton to get beat?

Back to this argument yet again. Not wanting benitez and wanting everton to won are not mutually exclusive.

Futile as it is talking to you, I will reserve judgement until the manager has some money to spend, a squad to pick from and no injuries to practically all his best players. Call it groundbreaking if you will, or perhaps common sense.
