Jesus, no.
For this reason, which I posted a couple of pages back. You may recall it.
'...We did with regard to a little boy Sunderland supporter who had a terminal illness. Kenwright paid all his medical expenses and the club did various things to help in his last months of life, if I recall correctly...

Posted this in the transfer thread but sort of overlaps with this thread:

I think the reality is after Walsh/Brands waste of money these past few years + pandemic there was always going to come a summer of balancing the books.

We've gotten Bolasie, Walcott, Benard, Besic, Pennington, Baningme off the books with Siggurdson, Tosun, Delph & James to come at the end of this season.

Add in the changes to FFP from profit/loss to salary and luxury tax and I think the manager will be backed next summer.

Its why this season has always been a free hit for me in terms of what we achieve/where we finish. Thats not some love in for Benitez its realism and the acknowledgement of our current limitations and huge job he has on his hands.

I would say in 12-18 months time we'll look a lot heathier both in terms of the clubs finances and the squad's commitment/quality on the field.

Rome wasn't built in a day its why soon as we lose a game or James isn't on the team sheet the fans need to reign it in with the "Benitez oot" nonsense - get who in? Potter who we just humbled? Some bloke from Portugal wet behind the ears?

Its time fans united and got behind the manager im looking forward to the season despite acknowledging we'll likely finish 8th at best.
This post reflects an objective, articulate and intelligent mind : is it any wonder, its author pulls so many fit birds off that titular thread on this forum?

That Newcastle forum is very much like being in Newcastle. It's very much stuck in the fashion of the 90s. plenty of Kevin Keegan, Robby Bobson, Shearer, Ginola references and ill fitting shirts covered in greasy fish batter and chips

They seem like a fan base with nothing to support except the memory of Kevin Keegan’s breakdown season.

I wish it wasn't true.

Anyways, Rafael will do well with yous I'm sure. Would've given my left arm for our takeover to have gone through and he been reinstated and allowed to see out his blueprint for progress and growth.

He was loved up here because he gave us reason for hope, kinda didn't matter whether or not he was a brilliant manager. He just represented excellence, dignity and - like I say - optimism.

Rondon will be a good backup for DCL too. Had a really good year with us, worked great with Perez and Almiron buzzing around him, back when we had tactics and a gameplan.

They're miffed because they think we don't rate him as a manager, and can't see that the cool response to his appointment is mainly
because he managed Liverpool.
Maybe I read too much into things at times: but the cool perchance percolating your post, lent pause....brilliant. That is zero degree (Kelvin!) irony right there...kudos my friend.
Sadly, many will miss its poignancy...

Jesus I had no idea they had some weird obsession with us. We have never really been rivals, maybe its their love of our red neighbors thats drives it.

It is weird isn’t it? I’ve never really thought about Newcastle enough to like or dislike them.

There’s a link to this thread on their forum now and they are working themselves up about not a lot really <waves shoe at invading geordies>
