But people ignore it due to Benitez hatred.

There's nothing. The squad is just grim. If you look at it objectively and ignore who the manager is there's only one conclusion here - and that's that the squad are a shower of see you next Tuesday's

They do have a general expectation of failure among the squad, but I think saying that ignores what the manager is doing here which is the bigger issue.

In any team, in any endeavour, you can only have favourites if they perform consistently well. If they aren't, if people are getting chewed out / disciplined / dropped to worse roles for things that the favourites get away with all the time, it shreds morale and performance. If you as the person in charge also refuse to learn from your mistakes, repeatedly sending them out to do something they don't believe in because of how often its gone wrong, it also shreds morale and performance. Benitez is doing both.

Martinez had a squad that was much better than this one but he turned it into one that looked as bad as this by signing his jarg and sending them out over about two seasons to repeatedly attempt the opposite of what they'd done in his first season, at a time when teams were having great success against us by playing how we did in his first season.

He won't get anywhere near 59 points and it'll be down to how bad we are, not how good others are

I'm honestly baffled how people don't see it. We have clowns as a squad. Why blame Benitez for it when Brands/Moshiri has put together this shitshow?

He is CLEARLY not trying for a win, which is what he should be doing. Pretending this squad isnt good enough to compete with any teams in the PL is preposterous and not true, even a blind man can see that. When theyre asked to lay compact and try the counter the same way every god damn game, it becomes very easy to defend against - its bloody obvious
